if you have ever been in a bridal partty...

what was your favorite/most treaured present that you received from the bride? and/or the most useful.

my cousin gave us all Lenox frames and put a 5x7 of us together on her wedding day in it.

I LOVE it. But, she's been married for almost 11 years. She saw the picture last year and said, 'you are the ONLY person who actually used the frame'

I was given a Vera Bradley tote bage that was monogrammed. I love it and use it all the time.

The best gifts that I ever recieved was from my cousin...she got us the necklaces & earings to wear the day of the wedding, slippers (to wear at the reception) & gift certificates towards our hair and makeup the day of....(we all really appreciated this becase of how tight money can be)

My sister followed in my cousin's footsteps...but she added a little something special for each of us...for me she got a special sister's frame, with the beautiful poem written on it, and she had it engraved at the bottom...'To the Best Big Sister in the World' I keep a picture of her and I in it from the wedding.

Im going to follow the tradition that my cousin started only I added hair Jewerly to each gift....and I too will add that special something for each BM.

I had several gifts I loved, but my two favorites were a big storage bin of all various things that we need for our kitchen. Recipe cards, plastic storage bags, garlic press, soap all the little things that you need when u first move in (fh and i bought a condo and need everything)

I also loved getting all my dishes. lol I know that sounds silly, but so many people bought things that were not on the registry that I was soooooo excited to get something big off it!

Another gift that i got that i loved was a gift certificate to the spa at the hotel i'm staying at! I can't wait to use it. Most creative gift yet!

The best gifts I got were jewelry but necklaces, earrings that were for every day use - not the sets that matched the dress.

A massage! That was from my cousin's wedding. She treated us all the morning of the wedding.

I have been a bridesmaid 4 times and have never worn any of the jewelry from any of them again. I even received two that were almost identical.

i have only been in one but ihave to say i liked EVERYTHING i got.
All of it was useful

We got our necklaces and earings
picture frames
and all nicknacks that are useful on the day of the wedding...
As well as some fun beauty products.

BUT the thing i LOVED the most....

she made the card....it was BEAUTIFUL

My Aunt's wedding she bought us all nameplates, we were able to use them the day of and I still have mine. It's just a sentimental thing.

To be honest, I've been a bridesmaid a lot and I prefer to get something that's a little useful. Something that I'll wear or use again.

I guess the best that I actually got was a necklace and earrings from my cousin that were the three stone thing. I still wear it cause it's pretty. And they look like real diamonds, tho i don't think they are!

I actually like it when you get one big present (like nice necklace/earrings) rather than a lot of small stuff. JMO!

Honestly, I have only been in 1 and the gift was terrible- after all of the money we spent and demands- hair must be up and she didnt pay for it- we got on the RD a cheap silver heart necklace and earrings that turned black like 6 weeks later. Thats why I went all out for my girls- I did not want them to feel how I felt- so unappreciated!!!! And NO money was not an issue for them-

I have 2 favorites. As a MOH, I received a beautiful gold heart locket. As a BM, I got a Mikasa crystal jewelry box that is about 3' in diameter. It's still on my dresser - I use it to hold my bracelets and think of the bride whenever I open it.

I love this idea, but my MOH hates it. She thinks that it's not a good idea to give a gift that is useful for MY wedding. It should be something they can use after. I just thought they'd rather save $$$ on items that they would have to pay for.

thoughts anyone?

I've only been in one bridal party - my best friend's. She paid for our hair and nail appointments and gave us jewelry to wear on the day of the wedding.

I really appreciated her picking up the tab on the hair and the nails, since at the time I was kind of strapped for cash and I was an out of state bridesmaid. The jewelry was very pretty - and it was Swarovski, so I'm sure it wasn't cheap - but I haven't worn it again because it's yellow gold, which really doesn't look good against my skin.

I have a jewelry box full of bridal party gifts that I prob will never wear.

The only thing I do use is an engraved jewelry box from my sisters wed party to put them in.

I never expect any lavish gifts though. Its not MY day and the bride and groom have ALOT more to pay for and worry about.
