I am totally upset this morning. I live in DC and grew up and all my family is on long island. We're having the wedding on Long island because both of our families are there. So my fiance purchased a matching wedding band set when we got engaged. We gave my parents my wedding band to put in their safety deposit box so we knew it wouldn't be forgotten in DC before the wedding. That was in March and now its August and the wedding is in October. I asked them to see the ring to show how it is similiar to my FH's. They can't find it and now it's lost. The part that is killing me is the sentimental attachment i had to it. Andy proposed and then he was all excited to show me the wedding band and for me to see what he had written inside it and everything. I think about that and I just start to cry. I know my parents are searching like crazy for it, and i can't flip out, but I am just besides myself.

Yes, they are tearing their home apart now. I am just so upset and they have already offered to replace it - just not the same ring. I know there are worse things that can happen - just I am sad today about it. I can see my fiance showing me the ring and being so excited and it was just part of his proposal. It just really really stinks.

They'll find it! My mom always puts things in a 'safe spot' she can't remember. It always shows up. I would be as sad as you are right now, it sounds like your FH was so proud of himself getting the matching set and all!

Ok you may think I'm nutz! I don't know what religion you practice. But, I'm Catholic and there is a prayer to Saint Anthony to help you find something that's been lost. I'm totally not trying to push religion on you by no means. But, it seems to work for me and my fam.
Either way I hope it shows up soon! I'm sorry this happened!

Thanks everyone! I am trying to stay positive and I am catholic and have been praying to St. Anthony all day! My parents are still looking and no ring yet. Thanks for the well wishes and I promise to let everyone know if it is found. I welcome all prayers!!! The ring is just so sentimental to me even though i never really wore it.

After almost a week of praying to St. Anthony keeping my fingers crossed...My ring is found!!!! Thank God!! So wedding planning is back to normal and now my parents just want to fight over the menu!
Thanks for your concern....it helped me make it through that day. The thought of not using the ring was heartbreaking to me.

OH No! Sorry to hear that----I am in DC too (seem to find more and more DC/LI people on this board) and IF IF IF (and I am hoping it doesn't come to this) I know any amazing jeweler who made a custom band to match my e-ring so please FM if it comes to it.
