If you parents paid for your reception, did they go with you to do the menu?

My parents are paying for my reception (they are great!) and they want to come with us when we pick our menu. I think they should be there, but FH was surprised when I told him they were coming. They should be there, right?

No, they didn't come w. us- but I did get their imput on a few things (re: chicken choice, appetizer)...

I guess now I just want to know if FH thinks his parents should be there too. I feel rotten for saying this but this should be between us and MY parents, my parents are footing the bill, so they SHOULD be there

I guess we will see...

Yeah, I think they should have some say since they are paying for the whole thing.

i was in the same situation and my parents came ... i think they 100% belong there!

My mom contributed a significant amount towards our reception, but parents did not have the final say on the menu. We gave copies of it to both sets of parents and let them give suggestions, but the ultimate decision was ours, and they were cool with that.

My future inlaws are paying for the reception, and in my opinion they have every right to be there to help with picking out the menu. Plus i value their opinion.

my mom is helping us w/ paying for the wedding, we are paying for the entire reception hall cost, but she came w/ us to do the tasting b/c we wanted a 3rd opinion

yep. It's their money (and mostly their friends)
plus - I'm getting married at their country club so they should be there

My parents will definitely be coming, as will FHs parents. They are sharing the costs, they certainly get a say.

Well, so far FH hasn't mentioned any more about the menu meeting or my parents being there.

I WANT MY PARENTS THERE, I just don't think HIS parents should be there, unless they are all of a sudden contributing money I don't know about.
