If you registered for nice bedding, I have Q

Is your fancy bedding dry clean only? We've received much of our registry, but none of our fancy bedding. Probably because it's Macy's and not BBB, and online only.

Much of it is silk, and it's dry clean only. (We'd be pairing it with our own sheets). I'm thinking about nixing it because of that, but I'm not sure.

Is this standard? Is it a pain to deal with?

I am exceptionally practical oh and lazy so I would personally never deal with anything that was too difficult to clean so unless i LOOVVEEDDDD it, I wouldn't get dry clean only.

UGH. I hope not!!!! I have a dog and I have to wash my current comforter like every 2 weeks, so dry cleaning would be a big pain in the @ss. Is there anything else you liked???

I have two sets at the dry cleaner right now. When we registered we didn't realize they were Dry Clean only! The only thing thats is a PITA is the bill because we have a king size bed, but they store it for us after they clean it so it's saving us some closet space.

I didn't even realize bedding was dry clean only! I hope our sets aren't!

honestly find something that is not dry clean only - its not worth the expensive of cleaning it unless your a person who just uses it for show and not as a second blanket.

I had ones with beading on it and it cost $75-$100 to clean needless to say after 2 years it was ruined. Martha Stewart has a nice collection of cotton and blended beddings that are machine washable and still amazing looking.

The set that was purchased for me (that we registred for) is dry clean only also.

I didnt realize that when we registered for it...but, w/e - I loved it - I just recently took it off my comforter (it's a duvet) and trying to figure out where to drop it off....

it kinda freaks me out to dry clean something where they use all those chemicals and then sleep in it - ya know?

Does ne one know of a place that uses only organic??????

thanks ladies. we currently live in an apt, not a house, and only have one bed set up. we have relatively new bedding on this bed (nice 600+ tc sheets we just got for my shower, a nice duvet, pillowcases and dust ruffle we got as gifts -- except for the duvet which i had bought last summer) and it's all washing machine safe. we're totally fine using htis for now, and I feel like it's a bit of a waste to register for really fancy stuff and not use it right away.

I tookthe pillowcases, duvet and dust ruffle from our fancy set off of our registry. I did leave one gorgeous silk quilt (it's brown and can be used with our current bedding), 2 matching quilted silk billowcases, and one accent pillow. if I want to get the rest of the set down the road I can, but it dresses up what we have now. I'm still assuming we wont get any of it, but even if we get only one piece we can use it instead of saying -- oh craap, we have 1 pillowcase and a dust ruffle, we either have to buy the rest of the set ourselves or stick these in the closet.

sorry for the long response, i feel a little better now! (and added 2 le creuset pieces to our BBB registry to balance things out, since I took all of this bedding off of our Macy's)

p.s. i'm in my 20sssssss aaaaaah

Edit: pic 1 is the duvet, dust ruffle, and euro pillows we have. pic 2 is the sheet set we currently have on our bed, although we also registered for white. (will prob mix and match)
pic 3 is the brown silk quilt we left on our registry, and pic 4 was the set we had registered for... just left the brown quilt, little brown accent pillow and 2 brown silk pillowcases

both of mine (one for the winter months and one for the summer months) are dry clean only b/c of the lace detailing.
