and you still want to send a gift, do you spend as much on the gift as you would if you attended the wedding? It is an old Co-Worker or mine that we hardly kept in touch with, but I still want to send something, but I don't want to be insulting.
I know its the thought that counts, but would around $100, be ideal or should it be more?.....or less?

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
I would def. not send the same amount. $100 is very generous... I won't even mention what we got from the people who RSVP'd no............(think along the lines of hmm... 0).

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
Generally, if I don't go to the wedding, I give something off the registry. I've personally never sent cash to someone if I didn't attend the wedding...
And I agree that I think $100 is fine if you want to send cash, but I would probably just send a gift instead. (And yes $100 is very generous, especially if you aren't attending the wedding!)

I agree! I think a $100 gift is a very very nice gesture!

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
I was definitely thinking something from the registry, there is just a big range in prices, from like 40 - 899!
Thanks for all your opinions!

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
you send what you can!!!
i def would NOT send more then a 100. i dont know if that makes me cheap or not, but if your not going, then i think 75-100 is more then generous!!!!
you should see what ppl send............some ppl even if they go to the wedding will give a gift and not even money..............
it depends on you and what you can afford and feel comfortable giving!!!

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
Sometimes people RSVP no and send NOTHING!!! Maybe you can send them a gift card to BB&B or where ever they are registered. Or maybe a Gift certificate for a nice dinner? I would spend $50-100 but NO more than that

$100 is perfect. it shouldn't be as much as if you attended and $100 is not insulting at all

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
I think $100 a very nice gift. That is what we normally send if we are not able to attend a wedding. Sometimes I will send a giftcard for where they are regsitered, but normally I send a check.

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
Thats so nice of you to send $100. I think its alot easier to send her money so she can buy something she likes herself off of her registry.

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
I'm always torn about this. I recently RSVP'd no to a wedding and sent less than I normally do - a little more than half the normal gift. However, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think of the present as something you're giving the bride & groom to start off their life together - why does it change based on whether you attend the wedding or not?
But, everyone else I know says to give less, and that's what I've done so far! $100 sounds like a good gift.

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
$100 is very generous if you're not going to the wedding. Most people who didn't come gave nothing. The ones that did send gifts gave $50 or $100, tops.

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
Since it's someone you haven't kept in touch with really, $100 is very generous.
ETA: We are starting to get our 'no' gifts. We've gotten some china pieces and some very generous checks. I was very surprised!

Re: If you RSVP 'No'...
I say a gift certificate to whichever place they are registered with should be fine. I mean between $40-$75 is real reasonable. Like you said, 'it's the thought that counts'.
