If you RSVP 'No'...

Original post by DanNette

and you still want to send a gift, do you spend as much on the gift as you would if you attended the wedding? It is an old Co-Worker or mine that we hardly kept in touch with, but I still want to send something, but I don't want to be insulting.

I know its the thought that counts, but would around $100, be ideal or should it be more?.....or less?

I'm always torn about this. I recently RSVP'd no to a wedding and sent less than I normally do - a little more than half the normal gift. However, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think of the present as something you're giving the bride & groom to start off their life together - why does it change based on whether you attend the wedding or not?

But, everyone else I know says to give less, and that's what I've done so far! $100 sounds like a good gift.

You can send less, because the couple wont have to pay for you plate. If you don't go, your are saving them money so you don't have to necessarily be as generous.

Wow, I wish I had invited you to my wedding. My MOH didn't get us a gift at all and she was the MOH!!
