... and when they receive it they send a gift, do you send another TY note?

yes. the first TY thanked them for sharing the day with us... the second TY was for the gift.. I just sent a plain card though for the gift.

Thanks! I'll try to get one out today (trying to use up my $0.39 stamps because I hate dealing with the $0.02 ones!)

I would just send a thank you card to acknowledge receipt of the gift.
