If you thought bugs were bad!!!! **UPDATED**
I came home tonight to find a huge DEAD CROW in my driveway ![]()
Now I'm really worrying about the mosquito bites I've gotten over the past week - worried about this being a West Nile crow! The think looks like a good sized chicken! It's about 14' long and is about 6'-7' around.
I already found the 'dead bird' hotline and will be calling them in the AM when they open to report the bird.
Yuck! What a wonderful greeting as I get home from work.
UPDATE...
Well, they came and picked up the bird and they did tell us that there have been no West Nile bird deaths in the Sayville area that they have encountered so far. They said that they have all been pesticide related, and they were spraying for mosquitos about a half mile from our house so that may be the cause. Unfortunately, they said we won't be able to get the results of our specific bird, but I guess if we hear that one has been found in the area we can be pretty sure it's ours.
