If you want to talk about facials, massages etc, post here------->

I know its spa week and the girls would want to talk about their facials, massages, mani, pedi, ets etc.

SO I went for my facial today, I was really excited, when the lady asked me if I am on any medicine and I said yes Im on Cipro for a throat infection and she said she wouldnt do it today bec that med is strong and it would really mess up my face and make it really red , I really wanted to do it today but I guess Im better off safe than sorry. Im happy that she was a prof and didnt want to do the peel on me. I rescheduled. She consulted with me and said the best thing is a Glycolic Peel NOT a chem or a microderm.

Who else wants to share the spa they went to and the procedure they had done??

Ihad the best facial I have ever had in the cutest spa I have ever been to last night
The place: Polished Spa in Sayville
The treatment: 90 minute rejuvenating facial
The outcome : Amazing

I highly reccomend this place to all you ladies. I am actually going on a skin care regimen 6 weeks before the wedding with the estetician (sp) that I had last night Christina, she really was amazing

I'm sorry you werent able to get your facial but I'm glad she was experienced enough to tell you that. Some places only care about the money aspect and would have done it anyways. Hope you feel better and then can go back

www.spaweek.org

This was last week, but wanted to post about my spa experience. Went to Juvenex with some spafinder gift certificates from my bday. Had the Basic Purification Program w/ 1-hour massage. Although the exfloliation was nice - not for the shy... YOu are totally naked on a freezing cold massage table which is covered in saran wrap. Not even in an enclosed room. Then, the massage was also in a shared room!!!!!!!!!! Smaller than FH's apt in NYC!!!!! And, to top it off- the lotion/ shampoo / conditioner they used STUNK and I couldn't wait to wash it off me!! Not recommended (and am surprised b/c it got great ratings).

I know right, thank goodness these people were very professional and didnt want my money but were concered about my health and didnt want to conflict with the meds Im taking. I rescheduled for next Tues and they still will honor the spa week price

Ohh goodness you had to share a room . I dont mind being naked for a massage but I wouldnt share a room and on a cold bed.

I went to Spa NOrdstrom on Sun and its just divine there. They put u in a warm dim room, you get naked and you get this cozy robe. You can keep your undies on if you want. You go into this other room where you get a warm foot soak and they put a warm bead pillow around your neck. You go into another room for the mass. The bed is warm and they cover you in a cozy blanket and there is calming music in the room and soo quiet and heavenly. THey use this relaxing smelling cream and OHHHHHHHHH, its great

Place: Spa NOrdstrom
for a massage
Experience: SUPERB!!!

I'm not going under the spa week deal, but FMIL gave me a $200 gift certificate to red door!! She was given this as a gift last christmas by her employees, but she lives nowhere year a red door and this thing is about to expire, so she figured I'd use it!! FMIL has no daughters, so I get all the daughter spoiling she hasn't been able to do all her life!!!

Anywho, I'm using this thing on Friday. I'm getting a microdermabrasion facial. I cannot waiiiiiiiiit. I really need it!!! If I love it I'll have to start saving all my change in a piggy bank in order to keep going back!

Place: Red Door (on 5th Avenue)
Service: Massage

Result: AMAZING. Totally recommend it. I've heard so-so things about other red door salons in NY...but the one on 5th avenue is RIDICULOUS. I totally recommend it.

OMG...I was just talking to FH about booking a facial there last night...with finances being the way they are right now, I thought it would be selfish to do it, but he told me to go for it. I hope I can get an appointment for this week, being it is going to be wednesday tomorrow! When you call, do you tell them it is for spa week? Are they a busy place? I have to call first thing tomorrow...and you just reminded me! Thanks!
