a nail file ( i never have one)
safety pins
advil
bottle water or maybe a soda can
small snacks, like the small bags of chips or pretzels, maybe granola bars
and area attractions wih local map

Definitely a list of things to do in the area and a list of restaurants with kind of food and pricing info.
As for actual objects, bottled water, a couple zip lock bags (sounds weird i know, but they always manage to come in handy when traveling), gum, some light snacks (maybe sun chips, and apple, etc.).
