If you were unsure about inviting a couple to your wedding would you ....

accept an invite to theirs?

I still have a few outstanding invites I am waiting on. (Response date 8/1) My Fh is concerned about one couple in particular. I really did not see the purpose in inviting this couple, but FH did so we did.

Well we have not gotten a response from them- mind you FH plays softball with the guy every weekend so they are always talking.

Well here is my take, they are getting married next May at this top of the line place in Westchester $$$$$$, so I think they are on the fence about accepting our invite because their is a chance they may not be able to reciprocate.

If I were in their position I probably would be thinking the same thing.

Thoughts???

If they don't respond well that is better for you that they don't b/c that is 2 less plates. If they don't invite you then I would feel like, better for me b/c we don't have to spend $200+. Ya know?

I admit I would be uncomfortable accepting a wedding invitation when I knew I couldnt reciprocate. I would probably decline and send a gift though. It also depends on who the people are and our relationship to them.

I would probably decline but send a gift. However, I would also respond in a timely manner. Is it passed your deadline yet? If not, sorry for the assumption.

I see what you mean.

I could care less if they come or not.

Fh is concerned, because he thought they would have responded already. What FH fails to realize is that we are not super close with this couple. We do travel in the same social circles, but they are not our best buddies.

I would decline, but promptly. I don't know why, but I just assume most people have a list of others they would want to invite in my place if I weren't able to go.
