Mine was $410 from Phyllis Limmer at www.Gownfind.com and she does the alterations at a capped price of under $150 if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, my dress is not under $500, but I have a few suggestions for you: 1/ If you want simple, check out the Vera Wang Bridesmaids dresses. I stayed away from them for my BM dresses b/c in white, they are gorgeous wedding gowns 2/ JCrew now has a wedding gown collection 3/ Check out www.bridepower.com they have megamarkdowns and some of those gowns are $199 and retail for $5K!

I got mine from David's Bridal, Queens, during their sale in January. Dress: $520 plus tax Here it is!
I was going to get an Alfred Angelo gown from Phyllis at gownfind.com for $334! It was originally $650! I am now getting a Jasmine Couture gown but I still plan on getting it from her. Great prices and she does all the alterations!!

btw, i just wanted to say that originally i had bought a gown on ebay and it was a watters and watters dress and i got it for about 200$. i resold it b/c it was bigger than i had thought, but if not for that, i would have kept it, so do check out ebay, too.

My dress was 495. Its a bonny. They have a wed site www.bonny.com> What I also learned was that you can shop around the price. I called this one place that was down the block from my house and they wanted 900 for the same dress. I went with Paridise bridal in farmingdale. good luck

My dress is by Venus Bridals. I'm getting it from Phyllis at Gownfind.com for about $350 (including tax). With alterations, it should be less than $500.

I know almost everyone on here hates David's Bridal, especially the one in Glen Cove...but that's where I got my dress. It was $499. I came this close to buying a $99 one, but wasn't sure it could be let out enough, it was a little too small. I had it altered somewhere else for about $60.

My dress was about $850. It's a Mon Cheri that I got at Estelle's. They have a lot of dresses at pretty reasonable prices. However, with alterations your on your own.

I got my dress from Netbride.com. It was a Sweetheart gown. The dress cost $360 & I took it to a local seamstress who did alterations & bustle for $125.
