Our minimum is 120, our maximum is 150...we're inviting 175.

rule of them is 15-20% will decline your invite
so 170 to 175 invite should hopefully meet your 140 req.

i think that depends on how many live in the area and how many would be traveling. i made a guest list, made a best guess as to would would come, maybes and no shows-gave 1 point to maybes, a .5 for maybes and 0 for no's and that was my guesstimated attendance. we came very close to the guesstimate!

Our minimum is 140, we invited 195. So far we've been getting way more yeses than no's, so I'm not too worried about making it. I would suggest at least inviting 180 to cover the estimated 20% no replies.
