If your parents are paying for your reception......

did you split the guest list with FH or did you have more people?

my mom is paying for our reception and I told her she has no choice but to have an equal amount between fh fam & our fam...only thing she told me is that if we have the wedding at fh church his mom has to give the donation cuz my mom wont....but I dont think it's fair to limit fh family because the brides fam is payin (that's just my opinion)

I get it - my parents are paying - they requested for quite a large percentage of invites.... I agreed - least I could do!

only my parents are paying... we didn't put a limit on my FH's guests, although we wish we did.

I had to add something...i dont think it's right if the fh list is larger i think it should be equal...and since i told my mother she cant put a limit on fh's list....it's like she's in this competition, the more people they put on their list, the more people she puts on her list before i know it we're gonna be up to 500 people we're already WAY over 300 and I only wanted about 200 UHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

My dad is paying. We have to guarantee 80 people and that's what my dad will pay for. He will not pay for FH's extended family [2nd cousins, great aunts]. They tried adding them to the list but my dad said no and now they are not being invited..it's their family and they won't pay for them either!

my family is paying and 80% are our guests, but we do have a much much bigger family than FH.

We did it so each side got half (100)...this included my friends and FI's friends.....it ended up that FI's side had more because they have a larger family AND we needed extra people and my mother did not want to add any people to our side

My parents are paying for our wedding....My guest list will be more people only because I have a very large family and FH doesn't speak to his father or father's side of the family.....So our guest list will be my family,my coworkers,friends and some of his immediate family not much though probably 1 or 2 tables....

our families are splitting it but the guest list numbers are WAYYY off in favor of FH's family. Of the 240 ppl on our guest list, about 125-130 are from FH's parents. the rest is a split between my dad and FH&my friends.

We told them that they're limited to 50 guests, and they don't know this but that includes FH's 20+. Because they said they'd be fine with 35 guests at first, we booked a small room and they decided last month they wanted 90 guests. My father told FFIL that for every guest over 50 they have to give us $100.

My parents do not count on ever seeing this money.

nope - well grandma is paying for the reception and invited 30 friends (most of whom i never met)...

but I figure she's paying for it, i'll fit it into the buget somehow - id rather pay a few thousand extra rather than her the whole thing!

WOW! They would have your dad pay but if they had to pay they don't get invited. Wow....

his parents are paying...and he has more people...but only b/c I invited EVERYONE i know (a whopping 54 people) and they actually cut their list to 110 people.
