If you're booked at a hall on the expensive end

If you're booked at a hall on the expensive end

Do you feel the other vendors look at you and see $$$$$$?

I think I may be being paranoid about this.

But I am a person who likes to negotiate everything, and HAS to because we did go over budget on the hall so we need to cut everywhere else.

I'm not sure the other vendors will want to give us the best deal because they'll assume we can pay the higher price..

PS_ I'm not getting married at the Plaza, or Oheka or anything, but it's definitely above average in cost.

if you're paranoid, tell vendors that you're getting married elsewhere (somewhere cheap lol) ... then get price quotes ... then 'change' your RH after you
sign the contract lol

but honestly, i don't think they'd be any less likely to negotiate with you

I'm a a little paranoid about this... which is also why I never mention that FH is a lawyer b/c then they get dollar signs in their eyes and FH does NOT make what people think he makes. He works for the city. So I hear you.

I just do my budget shopping and negotiating like everyone else and hope for the best

Our hall is a lil on the pricer side but it was our first choice so we cut costs and went for a day wedding...so far all the vendors have seemed average rate but if not I'd surely tell them we went big for the hall but had to then budget other things... Then they can take the offer or leave it!!

The thought has crossed my mind. Sometimes they try to show me something a little MORE than I asked for, because maybe they think we can afford it. (We cant, lol) Actuallyyy...a vendor on here FM'd me and told me NOT to tell vendors where my wedding was. I got a little wary of it though, because, how can i NOT tell the florist where my venue is, etc? However, all the vendors I have booked so far seem comprable to prices other girls have posted on here, so I'm not nervous. I also TELL them I heard about them from LI Wedddings, sometimes they write it down..

I was a little paranoid but most of the vendors I used had set prices - or I know of other brides who have used them, and they prices were more or less the same.

So I got over it now, but I totally understand what you're saying - some vendors could try and take advantage.

YES!! Me and FH were talking about this the other day. I feel like some vendors were not willing to negotiate at all.
I actually would love to tell vendors I'm doing it in my back yard just to see whether there would be any difference.
I had one vendor express to us how much his guys love going to Russo's and what an excellent place it is, etc.. That doesn't mean I'm freaking rich!!!!!

I think either way you have to negotiate the price. If they push things you don't want you have to stop them.

whoa this never occurred to me!! i think some vendors do think that with certain RH's! I will have to think twice about what I tell vendors now!

I know, it's weird, right?

Sometimes I get the like big eyes from them.. 'ooohhhh that's a really nice place'

ETA: It could just be me, kind of feeling self conscious for spending so much. I LOVE my place, but I question whether booking it was the smartest move, considering the price compared to our budget

My parents were thinking the same problem with us. So until the date gets closer we are still telling places we are between two places so they do not know we signed with oheka. We mostly got quotes from all the main vendors prior to telling them about oheka.

OHHHHH YEAH!!! I'm convinced that some vendors do see dollar signs.
Some of the crazy quotes I received were:10k for photo and video, and 6k for flowers!!

More than likely they do! Just tell you have a very strict budget

I have actually felt the same way - and we have the same hall.

Yup. I never felt happier or more blessed. I was having a very hard time finding the 'perfect' place and my FH and I took our families there 'just to see it.' I think my parents feel in love even more than I did (if that is possible!) and we decided to give up some other things to make it possible. Although it is VERY expensive they are willing to work with you and they include almost anything you can think of, so when you compare the numbers to some other places it is not as much as it seems.

oh really? how much were the quotes?

a friend of mine was actually supposed to have her wedding there last year...but it end up getting called off... so i still haven't gotten the pleasure of witnessing the perfection that is oheka castle!
