My hospitality is at 11 and wedding at 11:30. I put 11 on the invitation. I would rather people be early than late.

11:30. That's the point of the hospitality table. It's not really so you give your guests something, it's more to cushion the time of the ceremony so no one is walking in late.

Thanks everyone....so.....
if we are taking pictures and arrive there at around 11/11:15am...then the very early guests will see me before the ceremony?
is there any way to avoid this?
plus, the BM told me we rehearse like 1/2 hour before hand.

Same here. Jerry Scotto said to do 10:30 for our 11am wedding, but invites were already in our hands.
I also put a little 'blurb' on our website.

What's a hospitality table? Is it where the guests sign in as they enter the church, or the table where guests can leave their presents before they enter the ceremony?

I've been wondering the same thing...maybe the hospitality table is somewhere away from the ceremony area.

Re: If you're having an 11:30am hospitality table....
I believe the Hospitality table is just set up for people who show up early, for them to have coffee, danish, and stuff like that before the ceremony. I am getting married at Westbury Manor, and thats what my BM told me. It isnt something you actually invite people to. If they want coffee, and something to snack on, its provided. I would NOT have people come to your wedding at 10:30 am. lol

Re: If you're having an 11:30am hospitality table....
so if they are early at 11:30 they can enjoy the danish & coffee.....
but if invite says 12 then will most people be there before anyway...
i know so many of my punctual friends who will arrive at 11am if the invite says 11:30...
i won't even be there.
ps: I don't have to do a rehearsal 1/2 hr before...just the bridal party right???

I am not really sure. I am getting there at 9 am. Im staying at a hotel the night before with my MOH. My makeup girl is coming to the hotel, and my hair girl is coming to WM. I dont know about rehearsal. I only have a MOH and a Best man. So, theres really not too much to practice. LOL My ceremony is at 11:30 am. I put 11 on my invitation.

bumping because I'm still unsure what to put on my invitations :)
Hospitality table at 11:30 and ceremony at Westbury Manor to begin at 12 noon.
I don't want people to be early , and I don't want people to be late. Darn - I'm still confused .

Re: If you're having an 11:30am hospitality table....
I would ask your Hall because in my contract it says that my invitation time has to be the same time as in the contract. My wedding starts at 11:30 and thats what my invitation says. I think most people would get there early because they wouldn't want to miss anything.
IMO I would be annoyed if the invite had the wrong time, I usually show up 15-20 minutes early for a wedding anyway, and if you put an earlier time then actual, you might have guests waiting a LONG time!

Are people really that inconsiderate that when an invitation says 12 and the ceremony starts at 12 that they'd be late?
Like I posted before...my invites were already done, but I can't see putting an earlier time. The hospitality table is for those who do arrive earlier. I know myself, if an invite says a certain time I'm there before at least 15 mins. before to make sure I'm seated and ready.
You know your friends and family better than any of us...if they're always running late (my brother is one of those... ) then I would say put 11:30.
