If you're planning to attend your Cocktail Hour...

If you're planning to attend your Cocktail Hour...

Are you really going to be AT the cocktail hour or just in the bridal suite and having them set up a mini-CH for you & BP in there? I'm just a little worried about maneuvering around all those people in my big a$$ dress Also, will FH and I really get to enjoy the CH or is it going to be more like we get stuck talking to one or two people and hope to catch an hors d'oeurve or two while the trays are being passed?

probably both, so that all of our options are open

We have to take pics during our CH since we're not seeing each other beforehand. We're gonna have a mini-CH in the bridal suite just so we have something to eat between the ceremony and reception. Think this will be nicer and more dramatic when we're announced into the RH.

Our CH is going to be 1.5 hours, so we'll probably go in for a while then go to the BP room before making our entrance.

There are trays in my bridal suite for food, but FH will be AT the cocktail hour itself. We don't want to miss it. Probably last 15 mins we'll be in the bridal suite for a few mins alone before we are announced at the reception.

I did both, I attended most of my CH.

I'm going to be at my CH just like I will be at the reception. People are less likely to monopolize your time at the CH, because there are tons of distractions - like food, drinks and people. I plan to get my quick 'hellos' out of the way at the CH and party at the reception. I refuse to spend the majority of my reception going from table to table.

Also, we're having a BBQ the next day for our OOT guests, so we can relax with them and enjoy their company, since they obviously came a long way to be with us. That will help to relieve the pressure at the CH and recpetion as well.

How did that work out? DId you get trapped in a corner talking to people or were you able to move around a bit?

We plan to be at our CH because we have a steel drum duo and we are excited to hear them. Also, I would feel funny hanging out in the bridal suite knowing so many of our guests traveled a distance to be with us at our wedding.

I think it will take some assertiveness on our part to keep from being cornered by people. I have told FH we need to stick together and try to mingle as best as we can.

Thanks! There must be something in the water today that someone else was thinking about this I love the idea of the 'bridal bib.' Think we could make one with Swarovski crystals to match my tiara?

we're attneding our coctail hour... our caterer actually said its a nice time to get all the hellos out of the way so you can party at the reception... like somebody else said... i think it just takes some assertiveness to get away from people and cut conversations short.... you and FH just have to stick together- and keep an eye on time so you can get back and get ready to be announced....

We are so going to ours. Were going to do pctures before the wedding just for that reason. Make your quick hellos mingle and enjoy.

FH might mingle a little, but not me. I'm staying in the bridal suite.... bathroom, makeup touch ups, catch my breath, have my dress bustled, etc.

We attended our entire CH. In all fairness we didn't get to eat much, but we did get all of our hellos out of the way so we didn't need to do it at the reception.
