This morning I noticed Jeter's eye was had a lot of puss under it. He usually has a little tear in each eye when he wakes up but this was a lot. I carefully wiped it out of his eye. This afternoon when I got home, it was even worse! There was a big chunk of dried up puss and he cried when I tried to wipe it. Being the neurotic dog mom I am, I called the vet immediately and they said come right away.
I got there and they examined him and did a test on him and he scratched his eye! As soon as the doctor said maybe he could have done it on a bush I felt horrible! Monday we took him to the beach for the first time and we had to walk through a narrow path that had shrubs on both sides! He must have scratched it then!
So now my little baby looks like a Cone Head and I'm sooooooo sad. He's totally fine with it, running around and bumping into everything. He seems to be in no pain at all but I feel horrible. Tell me I'm not that bad of a dog mom.

OMg hes so cute! even w.the cone! Your not a bad dog mom you just didnt know.. Its ok hes fine thats all that matters~! :)

he looks so cute in his little cone! don't worry - you took him to the vet right away. and 'kids' get hurt all the time :) you're a good dog mom!

oooh no it's not your fault, I think I would feel horrible too. But if he doesn't seem to mind it then it's ok, don't make yourself feel bad

awww ...you did the right thing bringing him to the vet... he does look cute with his cone on he'll be fine in no time...

Don't worry they tend to heal well in a few days.

A bad doggy mama wouldn't have noticed that he was hurt...you are a great mama taking him to vet right away! He'll be better before you know it!
But I know how you feel - My mom has 5 cats (I miss them ) and anytime something would happen to one I'd be soooo upset!
