How do you tell if you are o-ing? I usually know because of a pain/cramps in my side. Is that the time you would get pregnant? What about this surge I am reading about? How many days after AF should your surge come? I'm sorry so many questions - I am very confused!

If you want to know for sure, you could buy one of those ovulator predictor kits.

Not necessarily true. OPK's (ovulation predictor kits) will show if you are indeed having a rise in LH (leutenizing hormon). Tw things I would suggest:
1. Read the book Taking charge of your fertility! it will explain sooo much!
2. Start charting after reading above book. That book will show you what signs to look for that will help pin point if and when you did ovulate as well as teach you how to chart.
If/When you read the book you will learn about things such as cervical fluid, cervical position and standard thermal shift.
If you learn your body and chart...you will be able to see when such things such as having egg white cervical fluid plus your cervix is high, open and soft and THEN you have a standard thermal shift all about the same time is when you normally ovulate.

it helps to pay attention to those little signs. i get a sharp ping in my lower back, mild almost unnoticable cramps, and my discharge (sorry) changes and becomes clear and stretchy. i used to keep this log of my body when i was younger, what i ate, headaches, my skin changes and everything else and this is what i noticed.

This is exactly what I paid attention to when TTC. The stretchier (is that a word?) it is...the more fertile you are....and then it's time to BD!!
