I'm A First Time Mother-in-Law
Hello ladies!
My sons wedding was wonderful. Heres my review:
Rehearsal:
We all met on the mountian and it was a bit hectic and confusing. The bride kept changing things, her mother was changing things, the minister was changing things, then the FOB said for everyone to get on the same page and it was pulled together.
Friday night RD:
I rented a tent, hired waitstaff, did all the cooking and it all paid off. It was great, we all had a good time. Good food, great drinks, many tears and hardy laughs. I worked so hard for it to be 'perfect' and it was.
Saturday: was a very low keyed day. Did last minute preps and just hung out in the sun and under the tent.
Sunday: the wedding day:
My daughter, my mom and myself had a 10 am hair appointment so the day started out hectic. The before ceremony BBQ was very nice. There were about 200 people and tons of food. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. We left the BBQ at 4, went home to get ready for the the 7pm ceremony.
My son and his groomsment all came over to my house to dress in their tuxes and so did about 20 others. I had about 30 people trying to get all dressed up and believe it or not, that went really smooth. There was a line waiting for the opening of rooms. As soon as my son came out of his room dressed, my tears started. I tried to keep composed for him, but we all knew that wouldn't happend. It was amazing to see my baby boy now a man on his wedding day was alot to inhale. He looked so handsome.
The ceremony: We all got up to the mountain, there were about 200 people already up there and seated. the grandparents were escorted down the aisle and then my future son-in-law came back for me. He was so loving. As he walked back to get me, he said, 'ready? Ofcourse i started to cry and he bent down, kissed me on the forehead, put his arm out of me and he walked me down with my compaion behind us. The tears were flowing pretty good by now.
Then, my son walked down the asile with the pastor, followed by the bridal party and the the bride and her dad.
My daughter was hysterical through the entire cereomny. I think she out did me in the tears.
After the ceremony we did some family pictures and then headed over for the cake reception.
Again, we all were introduced and the tears flowed again when the had their first dance to 'Unforgetable'.
They did the cutting of the cake which was absoultly beautiful and then the special dances came. My son chose for our special dance 'I Hope You Dance' and by this time the tears were out of control. I was hysterical. I held on to him so tight. He made a joke and said that the floors get slippery when wet so I'd have to stop crying. Then at one point we looked into eachothers eyes and he was sobbing. I had to wipe his tears. the rest of the recption was so nice.
So with all the hoopla and dramas of this country wedding, it all went very well. It was a wonderful day all the way around including the weather. It was a beautiful day.
I'm a spaz when it comes to posting pictures so my daughter offered to do a link for me. As soon as she does, I will be back and post that. I hope that this one will work.
I can't believe, 'I'm a mother-in-law'.
