I'm a lazy lazy wench who hates long lines updated
I work next door to a post office yet I never buy a book of stamps. I don't even have to wait on a long azz line; I can buy it from the random machine that'll take my debit card and everything.
But I don't like waiting on any line, so even if only two people are standing there, I bypass the high tech stamp machine.
So I go to the old fashioned dollar/coin stamp machine thing. But I never have change and I don't want to put in a $10 bill to get back dollar coins because I'd feel dumb buying like a soda at the deli with my large random $1 coin.
The solution: I buy a stamp or two at a time. Only I pretty much do this every other day. But now the people I work with know that I go to the post office several times per week and have asked why - I told them and they make fun of me about it.
Can't I just be lazy? I hate waiting in line
The update! I bought the farging book of stamps. I waited on line. For three minutes. It nearly killed me.

lines, no matter how short, make me nuts. I have very little patience, and standing around doing nothing while people take their sweet time sends me into all sorts of mental turmoil.
I hate ATM lines, bathroom lines, lines at the supermarket...you name it, I hate it.

I understand about not wanting to wait in line, but to me it seems like more work to have to visit the PO several times a week.
To each their own tho, your co-workers should just let you be!! No skin off my nose if you want to do things azz backwards!!

I have nightmares about DMV, although they don't even have lines anymore. But as a child I got a bloody nose after an hour on the line and it has made DMV go from bad to worse in my subconscious.
Once I made the mistake of using a $20 to get a few stamps. I felt like such an a-ss paying with the $1 coins at the grocery store. The guy (who was tops 17) didn't know what it was - and kept saying the amount due over and over. And I was trying to explain that the coin was $1.00 OMFG!
Most annoying post office line story - I went to the post office. It was very dark. The line was quite long. I waited in line for 20 minutes. I was next. Then the lady at the counter says 'we are no longer accepting customers, our power is out and the generator is almost dead'. I was ready to KILL someone.

And the story about explaining that the dollar coin is indeed worth $1 - need to avoid that at all costs.

I can be very patient, and wait awhile, but I hate PEOPLPE. And usually, where there are lines, there are people. And that makes for waaaay to many opportunites for them to pi$$ me off, while I have to stay put. I hate when people stand too close to me.
Supermarket line story- The ghetto market by my house never has baskets, and I only needed a few items, so I walked around and stacked things up in my arms. I got on line behind this classy lady in her sweats, yelling at her kid- and she kept looking at me, not saying a word. She SAW that I was struggling- my arms overflowing with hot dogs and milk- and yet- when she plied her food on the conveyor, she took up every last inch. So I could stand around struggling with my groceries a few extra minutes. Nice.

Victor and I went to Six Flags for Fright Fest this year- NEVER again! We went on maybe 7 rides in 10 hours. And again- it's more the people I am surrounded with that bug me, over the actual waiting.
But Kingda Ka had a 3.5 hour wait. AND, now they have this thing where you p[ay $100 EXTRA, and you get to skip lines! So now you get to wait 2 hours for a 35 second roller coaster, while watching people cut ahead of you!!

I can buy them from freaking pea pod, I know this and I still don't do it. Besides, it doesn't help me now because I need two stamps anyway.

But seriously, I hate waiting in lines even when you can sit and wait like at the DMV - which is why I still haven't changed my name.

I had this happen to me when I was holding one of those huge 24 packs of water. The guy spread his four items out so they took up the whole thing. Nasty old dude. Meanwhile I am breaking a sweat trying to balance the water and my three other items. Which brings me to my other hatred - carts. Unless I am buying a ton of things I refuse. I always end up with the stupid squeaky turn to one side cart.

they had a gimmick where if you ate a hissing cockroach you could cut all lines all day. Is it sad that I was tempted? NO LINES! Of course cockroach is not vegetarian, and also icky, but back to the original point - NO LINES!

I share your lazy lazy.
I hate hate hate lines, more so for the claustrophobia that sets in when other line goers must lean over me are crowd up all in my business. DH knows the face right away and sends me away for some chill pills.

LOL - We all have little things that annoy us but this is actually funny! Instead of waiting in a short line, you would rather make multiple trips to accomplish the same thing
I am weird about gum chewing. If there is someone at work who is a loud gum chewer, I will go out of my way to avoid sitting next to them. I will move to a different chair during a staff meeting otherwise I will be secretly thinking about stapling their jaw shut during the meeting.
