I'm a little annoyed today -- NWR vent

Most of you know that I've been in treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since September. I think I've been pretty good during this ordeal and haven't complained too much about things. But, I kind of lost it today.

I finished chemo in early January and had to wait 4 weeks for my scans to see if I was in complete remission. We were all really hoping I would be because after only 3 cycles of chemo, my tumor shrunk 90% and everyplace where the cancer showed up, it was gone. But, I still had a tiny bit of tumor left (5% of the original mass) and they sent me for radiation.

SOOOOO......I've been going to radiation every day (except Sat and Sun) since the beginning of March and my last day was supposed to be this Friday.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.....my radiologist said he'd like to 'bump' me up and give me the maximum dosage of radiation he can give me because he wants to do everything he possibly can to give me the best shot of preventing a recurrence of the lymphoma.

Ok, I can TOTALLY see his point and I'm VERY VERY grateful that my doctors are so aggressive.

HOWEVER.....I thought I was ALMOST done with treatment and now I have an EXTRA week added. IT'S SOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!! I feel like this is never going to end.

I just feel like every time I start to feel like I'm getting back to normal, I get slammed back down.

I know it must be frustrating, I can't say I know how you feel bc I'm not in your situation but I really wish you all the best and pray that you will be done with treatment ASAP!!

btw....doctors can be very annoying at times but look at it this way....you're coming down the final stretch and getting to the finish line is always a little harder than we all think

I am so sorry that you have to go for another week. But you are such a strong woman! Seriously, your a huge inspiration! You can do it!! 1 more week might seem like a lot since I'm sure you've been looking forward to the end of this, but it's just 5 more days..and YOUR DONE!!!!! Stay strong! Vent all you want! Thats what we're here for!

i am very sorry to hear about your sickness but hang in there at least you are heading towards the finish line. ...hey dont they always say to keep a positive attitude. hang in there for a little bit longer.

i agree with you though, its a good thing that your doctors are being aggressive. i'll keep you in my prayers!

I can't imagine what a let down that must be. I know it is hard to look on the bright side now, but just think. Only one more week and you are done and God Willing you will be in remission for years and years to come and this will all be a distant memory. Just think, you will be cancer free for your wedding! Hang in there!!!

You are doing great. One more week, hang in there. I know it's fustrating, but you've come a long way.

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO VENT! My best friend had to go through this and they kept pushing her chemo and before she knew it it had been an extra month...but, now she is cancer free and has her hair :)
