And I've never done one before. Considering I am this kid's music teacher and totally not qualified to do this, I'm panicking a bit. But the head of the upper school is out today and she asked me to do it

Why isn't the student's classroom teacher doing it? What is your role, to talk about how the child is doing in school and whether you think his program is appropriate?

Good luck!

Well, he does not have a classroom teaher because he's in 7th grade. The head of the upper school did not think anyone else was capable of doing it, so I am. I'm sure it will be fine, but I am still freaking out because it is to get his services continunued and if they don't get continued, I'm afraid that I'LL be blamed I've done IEP meetings and stuff, but that was in a school that was for special ed only and I kind of just put in my two cents, I've never had to do this before, though. I'm having total anxiety!

I know it's nervewracking. As a school psych intern, I always was anxious presenting the results of my evaluations. Just be prepared to defend why you feel he still needs services and you'll be fine. Good luck!

ETA: The head of the upper school obviously has a ton of confidence in your abilities. Try to have that much confidence in yourself!
