I'm a little ticked...

Ok I'm a little ticked. I met with ADA photographers in Smithtown tonight and didn't have a pleasant experience. The photographer we met with, Tony was not helpful at all. He took our name and date down and once he saw that he was booked for our date it seemed like he didn't care anymore. He gave us the price list to look over and that was that. He didn't volunteer any info but he did make it a point to say that Crest Hollow (our reception site) doesn't recommend them. It was pretty awkward because we were basically sitting there in silence thinking of questions to ask. I asked to look through one album just to have something to do. We left annoyed because we had an hour and a half drive to get there with a 40 minute wait to see Tony only to spend a total of 10 minutes with him. How long do you usually spend? Most of the vendors I've met with, I've spent over an hour chatting and getting information.

ADA was highly recommended by my FMIL's best friend. She used them for her two daughter's weddings. I was thinking of going to the Selden location and meeting with someone else but my Fiance is against using them now. Heh. OK enough of my complaining! I think I'm going to look into Patken and Imagine. Any suggestions for photographers? Thanks!

Patken is friendly and professional. I am using Vinnie and couldn't be happier with my choice.

I'm using Imagine and they have been great to work with so far. I have only heard positive reviews of them on here.

definetely meet with Patken. I booked on the spot 1)because I knew I wanted them right off the bat before I even walked in the door, but also 2) because Doug sat with us and really worked with us. He did ask many questions in order to get a feel for what we wanted. They don't have pre-made packages, they sit with you and ask you what you want and come up with a package and a quote that is good for you. They are a family business and truly treat you like you are a member of that family when you are there. I met with Doug at the Lindenhurst office and really did have such a positive experience! Do you know the which Tony you met with? We used ADA last month for our Wedding, and had Tony J. - no complaints about him at all, we had a good experience, but there are definately mixed reviews on this board.

You will always get mixed reviews. Maybe try the other location, or use how friend used. Or else forget a vendor that does not have time or interest to help you. If they are bad during a meeting, wen impressions are everything, then it wouldmake we wonder how they will be once they have my money.

I'm an Imagine Bride and I love their work and so do many other brides on here. I would definatly check them out.

Why would they even have given you an appt to come in if your date was already booked? It may have happened before your appt but still ya know?
I am using VIP. Like someone said you will get mixed reviews about everyone. Go with your gut feeling and who you and your FH feel most comfortable with.

I used Fine Art and was very happy with them. I think they are one of Crest Hollow's recommended vendors (my brother also used Fine Art and he got married at Crest Hollow last year as well!) I used Chuck as my photographer (he may have moved on though). I posted my pictures back in November of last year - if you want to search back for them.

Sorry, didn't they ask you when they made the appointment when your wedding was? They should have told you before you made the trip that your day was already booked. Sorry!!!
