No, not that kind
Our puppy was born over the weekend!
8 Rhodesian Ridgebacks weighing in at about a lb. a piece

and she'll officially be ours in 12 weeks!! Meanwhile, we'll be taking weekly trips to Sea Cliff to watch her grow.
The real mom making sure I don't mishandle one of her babies:

We're getting a girl. We're considering working out a deal with the breeder that if we agree to show her to a championship and then breed her later on, she'll be given to us. And we'll get a show quality pup as opposed to a pet quality pup.

Still not sure if we're going to do that though since neither of us have experience in a show ring. Although when our breeder got the mom, she was given to her under the same conditions and our breeder also had never shown dogs before...she said she just took some handling classes and it took off from there. Still a lot of responsibility.

We're not getting all of them, LOL, just one of the 5 females. We're going to continue visitng to see how their personalities are before we choose a pup.

They're born with the ridges. Actually a ridgeless pup is considered undesireable and they're sometimes euthanized. Thankfully our breeder would never do such a thing and the ridgeless male that was born already has a home in Oklahoma.
