I'm a newly engaged happy heart taking all of this in!! I just wanted to introduce myself ad say hi :) My fiance (I love saying that) and I are reallllly hoping to have a BIG backyard wedding...basically, make my parents huge yard into a hall with tents, lights, etc...We had a WONDERFUL company come over to measure (NY Tents) and we are anxiously waiting for their proposal which we should have tomorrow...(we had a few nightmare tent companies come as well) We also have looked at 'beachy' venues as well like The Crescent Beach Club (our fav so far), Bridgeview, Carlile on the Green, The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow Park, and a few others. But we are praying the backyard thing works out!!
I'm excited to be here on this site, and I look forward to all of the planning with you all. Happy wedding!!
PS- If anyone has pulled off a BIG backyard wedding on Long Island, feel free to share!! Id loveee to hear experiences with tents, bathrooms, electric, etc!!!

Congrats! I myself am not having a backyard wedding but I know my DOC has done a lot of them...especially Hampton style weddings. She coordinates and runs the show. FM if you'd like her contact info. Good luck!

Congrats! My cousin had a huge backyard style wedding at Peconic Bay Vineyards. One thing I loved were the large lantern ball lights hanging above the dance floor.

What a wonderful idea! We tried to do a backyard party for our engagement party, but unfortunately we don't know anyone with a big enough backyard!! That would have been my ultimate dream wedding!!
