I'm a newbie ;]

Original post by snorth86

I attempted to post a few questions that I had on another website forum. I wasn't greeted so pleasantly, so I hope this one is different!

I'm getting married in April of 2010. So far, we have booked our church and are trying to decide [within the next few days] between two reception halls.

I have a few quick questions about some things. :]

My 'maid of honor' is my 7 year old daughter.
My 'matron of honor' is my Aunt, who is very close and motherly to me. I have a relationship with my Mom, so I couldn't bump the Mother of the Bride title from her. Onward..

My fiance only has one best man. How would I have them walk?

I was thinking this... I was thinking that the best man [who is my future hubby's dad] could walk down with my daughter.. and then my brother [who is also in the wedding] could walk with my Aunt.

Would this be acceptable?

Thanks in advance!

Stephanie

Hi! Welcome & Congrats!

I think you can really have them walk anyway you want. Everyone could really even just walk alone.

welcome to the boards! you picked a great week to join

i like the idea of having your daughter and FFIL walk together and your aunt and brother OR
your aunt and FFIL and daughter all together as they are the bestman/moh's...
I wouldn't have your daughter walk alone because then it might make her look like a flower girl and she's not.. she's your maid of honor.

oh where are you thinking of having the reception?

We have two possible venues picked out. I'm not sure where most of you ladies are located. I live in Ohio, in the Dayton area. One of the reception halls is a very well known venue for most of the people in our area - it is approximately 10 minutes away from the ceremony site.

The first initial site that we picked for the reception hall is perfect for our budget - when I was working full time - I just got fired [long story, won't elaborate on a happy post] and now I'm nervous.

I want to know, for certain, that I have a reception hall that I can afford. I want the other reception hall, but with me not working, we CAN'T afford it. So I may book a smaller one.

It's such a headache.

welcome and congrats!!!!

i like what soontobecruz suggested that you could have the men up with FH and then have your AUnt and Daughter walk down together...that would probably make for great pics!

Thanks Mrs.C
