I'm baaaaaaack..my wedding detox, shower, RSVPS...

HI!!! Missed this site tremendously!

I'd decided in the middle of August to take a wedding break. I was becoming extremely stressed out and needed a detox. I planned on doing a wedding website 'fast' for about 4-5 days...then my computer broke....so it ended up being almost a month!! Glad I'm back...a few short updates and pics!

Had my surprise bridal shower. I love my friends and family. I was honestly surprised. Had a really nice time. Was a bit disappointed when I found out a lot of people didn't RSVP. One of my BMs is in Texas and worked really hard on the handmade invites and other aspects even though she couldn't be there. It would have been nice if people called to say if they were coming or not. My Strawberry Lemonade cake was the main event LOL!! Best cake EVER!!!!

Ugh...the major stress has been the guest list. His side added a person without asking me first which caused me to not be able to add someone I'd been planning on adding since making the first guest list but wanted to wait until we had an RSVP count. I think FH felt his hands were tied on both sides so I can't be mad at him anymore...Just want him to speak up more. Whatever...I'm over it or else it would make me pull my hair out. If I didn't get along with his family I'd still be livid...but Iove them to death so I have to get over it.

Final count 225 (including us)...255 were invited.

My dress alterations only cost $50!!!!! She said it's perfect and only took the hips in a tad and added a bustle. I'm trying to lose about 6-8 pounds so it can fit more comfortably in the mid section. Found a INSANE workout class for only $8 in Queens...2 hours of SWEAT! So I should reach my goal in 2 weeks or so.

just wondering - is the workout class BBD?? i hear amazing things about it, but ive been too scared to go. lol

YES!!! OMG! You should be scared!!! Each time I go I wish I hadn't until we get into the routine. She's a beast!!!! She never stops...ever. She's obsessed with bent knees...so EVERYTHING you do you're in a squat or semi squat position. OUCH!

And she yells and makes people in the front 3 rows (who are up that close because they're supposed to be more advanced) do 30 push ups if they slow down or don't keep pace! But let me tell you...its an amazing work out. You sweat like no other. I've been going Tuesdays and Thursdays in Rochdale. I may go to PS 38 this week. Let me know if you decide to try it. If you're looking for major cardio and intensity for a very low price then BBD is the move

my BFF's sis in law goes often. i think she made it up to row 1. it sounds too intense for me!!! but if you plan on keeping it up (even after the wedding), i may finally give it a try....

right now im taking a 'sexy pop' dance class, lol. not too much cardio but it's fun!

Trust and believe, if I didn't need to squeeze into my gown in 5 weeks I wouldn't be going lol. It's majorly intense, even if you work out regularly (so I've been told since I wouldn't know anything about that )

She must be a monster if she made it to row 1. I bet her body has made a change if she's been doing it consistently for a while. I hate drinking water, but I make sure I drown myself in it all day working up to the class. Another good thing is that class is in the evenings 8pm-10pm.

Welcome back Amber. Great pics of your shower and boks. The first thing came to my mind of your poster was Coming to America. I love the song.

YES!! LOL. They took elements from it. The wedding theme is West African Adinkra symbols, which I'm going to name the tables after and have used on programs, menu, and escort cards. My favorite is Sankofa and Gye Nyame, both which I have tatted on my wrist. I'll see if I can post a pic of the menu or escort cards.

They even laid out rose petals for me to walk on as I entered the room! Just like in the movie! I was waiting for the whole full on African dancing scene, but that might have been a bit much.
