I'm back!

I'm back!

Hi ladies--

please disregard my previous post about moving my date. It was a moment of insanity. I'm thisclose to booking my hall for next year! I need opinions though...Would you have a reception labor day weekend (saturday night) for the sake of slightly warmer weather and a later sunset-- but potentially sacrificing a portion of 'yes' RSVPs OR would you book a date further towards the end of the month, for the same price...but with a slightly earlier sunset time? (I'm hoping for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour-- however on a saturday night the ceremony would start at 7...ch at 7:30) Do you think it will be too dark at the end of September? Let me know what you think!

Some people may have plans for labor day weekend.

Re: I'm back!

I think Labor Day is a great time because you can still enjoy the warm weather (although I am biased because I'm a Labor Daw weekend bride).

The decision is yours. I happen to know that many of my family members stay in NY for Labor Day weekend because even though they go out with their families, they don't want to travel too far because their children have to go to school right after and they don't want to deal with the traffic.

If you are having an outdoor ceremony I would be weary of a later date in Sept. As you can already see, this year is a bit cool during the evening and it is already Sept., and it has gotten progressively cooler at an earlier date with each passing year.

But ultimately, it's what makes you feel most comfortable. People will attend your wedding if they really want to be there. If they have alternate plans than that is something you will have to understand (which most brides do).

Best of luck with your decision.

I think Labor day weekend is a great time - Although I too maybe a little bias as well!!! However I think regardless of the date there will always be those few who will not be able to attend. I think that if you give everyone ample notice by sending out save the dates and via word of mouth by family members - you will be fine. In the end - its all up to you - and always know that those who truely want to be there will!!!

I looked up sunset times for Sept 22 (of this year) and its 6:08pm... (I can only assume it'll be approx the same for 07). vs sunset time for Sept 2 --6:48pm. You are probably better off with Labor day weekend -- just for the lighting aspect. -- make sure you send out the Save the Dates!!!

I'd go for labor day. If people are local and have kids, they probably aren't going away. Plus the nicer weather and later sunset are great!

Maybe I'm just biased though, since I'm gettint married ona holiday weekend too!

I would go with the 22nd..it is a holdiay too but not a national one its a religious one... So that may not be to much of a problem with responses but the holdiay weekend you may get more not able to attend responses.

good luck either way!
