I'm back as a newlywed...with pics!

Original post by LandJ

Hi there. I don''t post that often but I wanted to thank the liweddings.com community for helping to make my wedding day such a huge success! Despite the torrential downpour the morning of my wedding day (our limo also got stuck in a flood), the sky cleared just enough to make it a beautiful day. I will post some professional pics in the future. But for now, I wanted to share some pictures with you that a friend took. By the way, even on a very overcast day, Lands End is still gorgeous and a phenomenal place to host any event. I highly recommend! They did an amazing job.

Re: I'm back as a newlywed...with pics!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments! Sorry I haven't gotten back to those who asked me questions...I'm busy packing to move. We are renting a new apartment in a few weeks and looking for a house to buy at the same time so I've been inundated with moving stuff. As far as the maker of the BM dresses, they were Vera Wang and believe it or not, the most inexpensive dress my girls tried on. They also got a discount because they bought the dresses at Bridal Salon of Manhasset, which is where I bought my gown. Unfortunately, when the dresses came in, they did not fit my Maid of Honor or Matron of Honor correctly (due to their body type) and they had to order other dresses. I felt terrible but it was at the last minute and we had to scramble to find an alternative. As far as the flowers, I loved my bouquet (and yes, it was heavy) but the BM flowers weren't exactly what I had envisioned. They looked nice in pics but they actually looked pink and purple in person and that was not what I had wanted. The BM dresses were actually a pink-rose color on the bottom and a merlot/wine color on the top of the dress. Anyway, despite how much you plan, there are always little things that do not go as planned on your wedding day. One couple brought their 5-year-old daughter to the wedding, and that's after we had told everyone many times that we were not inviting children. That same couple also gave us a recycled crock pot as a wedding gift! I didn't let anything get in the way of my wedding day though, and I had a fantastic time .
