I'm back from my cruise! Here's a review for princess99 (and some pics)

Original post by Anniegrl

DH and I just got back from our 1 year anniversary cruise this Saturday. We did a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Princess cruise line (Caribbean Princess).
I had been putting off going on a cruise for years because it just seemed pointless to me to sit on a boat for days, when instead you can just fly and get to your destination much faster. I also didn't like the idea of only getting to spend one day at each port.
But DH has always wanted to do a cruise, and it's pretty affordable, so I decided to give it a shot. Well, I'm glad I finally caved because it was awesome! I totally didn't mind being at sea for 2 days before we got to St. Thomas. There's so much to do on the ship - it's HUGE! We were totally amazed by it.
And can I tell you I feel like a beached whale after eating about 3 times my body weight in food
But man, was it good! The first night they had unlimited lobster claws, king crab legs, and shrimp cocktail. We ate at one of the 2 buffets most of the time because it was just more convenient (and you can wear t-shirts and shorts) but we also ate in the dining room a few times. They have 2 specialty restaurants as well that we tried out; one was Italian, the other was a steak house. Phenomenal!
The best part is that you can order as much food as you want. DH would order 2 shrimp cocktails, 2 entrees, 2 desserts...

The entertainment was just eh; but we didn't care. I was perfectly happy relaxing on our balcony at night, looking up at the stars and listening to the sound of the water hitting the side of the boat. I just couldn't get enough of that.
The 'Movies Under the Stars' is awesome; they have a HUGE flat screen tv on the top deck by the pool and they play movies during the day and at night too. They cover the lounge chairs with these comfy cushiony covers with built in pillow, and they give you a blanket too. It was so nice sitting on the deck at night in the open air, watching a movie.

The average age of the cruisers was middle-age though, so this wasn't a party boat at all. But DH and I didn't mind.
Our other ports besides St. Thomas were St. Maarten and Princess Cays (a privately owned island near the Bahamas).

Everything about the cruise was fantastic; we actually had a much better time on the cruise than on our honeymoon!

If anybody has any questions, just ask.....

Dang it!!

But really , I missed you before you left and I'm really happy to hear that the cruise turned out great - I was so hoping you'd have a nice time, I know how hesitant you were about it

And happy 1st Anniversary (a little late!)

Me too! But I found out that Mr. Rooster doesn't like being petted. I almost got pecked on my putting hand

THANK YOU for the review and the photos - we are doing this cruise in August. I have taken a number of cruises before but never on Princess so it will be a change for us.

You might regret being open to questions...LOL I have a couple!

What deck were you on? We are going to be on Dolphin deck.

What pool did you find that you spent most of your time at? The Main pool with MUTS or one of the others?

Was it hard to find seats? I understand they only give you one towel and that they don't have any by the pool - is this true? Could you get more than one each from your cabin steward?

Did you have breakfast on your balcony? How was the room service menu?

Did you go to skywalkers? How was that? I think there will be more mixed ages on the cruise in august as more families will be traveling.

What night did you do the specialty restaurants?

Sorry that there are so many questions
