I'm back from the Riviera

I'm back from the Riviera

It was really beautiful. We stayed on the French side, but also spent two afternoons in Italy and one day in Monaco and Monte Carlo. The people were nice, the food was excellent and we had a ball.

The only really awful thing was seeing so much anti-US stuff (flags, signs, graffiti) in Genoa. I had never seen that anywhere before.

The trip made us think of having a destination wedding with about 50 people. We're going to sit on that thought for a few weeks.

Anyway, it's good to be back here! I hope everyone is doing well!

Re: I'm back from the Riviera

I took a million pics and will drop them off at 1 hour photo on my lunch hour. Will def post some here.

Jenny, I highly recommend Menton, it's a city between Nice and Italy. There are some good restaurants, a nice beach, and gorgeous views. We also totally loved Villefranche sur-la-mer, and if you can rent a boat, do it, we didn't and we wish we did. The beaches are more rocky than sandy, and have olive and lemon trees nearby. Very different than NY beaches, but clean and lovely.

Allure, we had mostly seafood, salmon and crab and calamari. And steak. Usually we asked the waiter to pick something for us b/c we couldn't always understand the menu. The coffee and deserts were really good, very fresh.
