I'm back.Hawaii review.
Hello ladies. Back in Brooklyn, booooooo.
What'd I miss around here?
One of our groomsmen was getting married in Maui that was the whole reason we went.
The first night we stayed in kihei which is on the south west part of the island. We stayed at the maui coast hotel which was gorgeous. It was right across the street from the beach and they upgraded us to a suite for free.
The next 3 nights we stayed in a house up in the mountains that the bride and groom rented for the wedding. It was gorgeous but too secluded. The nearest store was a 45 minute drive.....one way.
My future inlaws stayed in lahaina, we met them there for a dinner cruise one night. It was a cute little town with lots of shops right on the beach. If yiu are going to Maui I suggest staying there.
Once we got to oahu we did a day trip to the big island to see the volcanoes. The trip itself was great. Tiring because we were picked up at our hotel at 5am. However if you book a tour like that be sure to ask the tour company what airline they will be booking. If they say go airlines don't go on that tour.
Go airlines sucks. our flight was delayed by 3 hours going bacl to oahu because they had no crew to fly the plane. Fh looked up reviews on the airline and all the reviews were terrible. From maui to oahu we flew island air and I have no complaints.
In oahu we stayed at the ohana Waikiki west. It wasn't on the beach but it was two blocks away. If you don't care about a little walking save your money and book a hotel off the beach. The hotel was nice but the elevators were super slow. Waikiki is nice because you can pretty much walk everywhere. It was nice to have that after the seclusion on maui.
Make sure to walk around the international market. Any souveniers you want to buy will be cheaper there and you can haggle them down.
We saw pearl harbor which I think is a must. Book a tour because if you go yourself you have to get in line super early in order to actually get tickets.
We rented harleys and drove up the coast. The north of the island is gorgeous I suggest going to it.
Any sort of toiletries or medicine or even a bottle of water you need go to an abc store. They are much cheaper.
That's all I can think of now. Anything else you wanna know just ask.
