The Brooklyn Museum of Art But the site fee alone was something like $20k.... However, I do absolutely LOVE my rh! I wasn't even going to look at the rh I booked, but I have a great FMIL who asked me to indulge her and look at it! She was soooooo right! Thanks FMIL!!!!

Queens Botanical Garden..

It was our first choice but considering it might rain and the price alone for the food was ridiculous!!

We could have afford it but with less ppl. We wanted to invites everyone who truly means a lot to us. We needed a bigger wedding..

We had a few other favorites, but they didn't work out for one reason or another .... we're beyond elated that we selected Danfords (it has a lot of meaning to us for various reasons) but here were our other top picks--

-Vanderbilt Mansion in Centerport (we can see it from our house across Northport Bay) -- but they wanted a HUGE site fee -- almost $10,000 -- ON TOP OF the catering. We couldn't validate that for a TENT wedding. If it rained, we'd be screwed, as the bathrooms are a trek from where they set up the tent.

-Trumpets at the Gate in Eastport -- beautiful spot, amazing, amazing, amazing place... but their room MAXIMUM is 119, including us. It would have been way too hard to shave our list down that low. Also, we wouldn't have been able to have a sweetheart table. It would have been a long trip for our OOT guests.

-If we had waited another year, I would be curious to entertain the idea of having our wedding at Coindre Hall in Huntington. They are doing massive renovations, so it wasn't really an option.

-Block Island -- we love BI dearly. It would have been to difficult for some older family members to travel there, though. When we were there last, we saw a wedding taking place and FH really tried to figure out a way to do it, but the high speed ferry is really expensive PP plus the cost of a room for the night would have been too much for some guests. Now, with the economy, I'm glad we didn't go this route.

For me it was Oheka. I looked at it. I really wanted it. But the price was too much for Daddy. LOL.

The Crescent Club in Bayville. I grew up in Bayville so I always wanted to get married there, and we went to look at it before we started booking but the only way I could have afforded it was if we got married on a Thursday and guaranteed 200 people.

Plus I would have been TERRIFIED of it raining, bc I don't love the inside for cocktail hour.

I love my RH but if I had the $$$ I would have booked at Bonnet Island...but the site fee alone is like $25,000!!!!

I love my RH.. Glen Island Habour Club.. i feel in love with the food and grounds long before i was even engaged.. i can describe it in one word.. AMAZING!!!

Lands End is beautiful too.. but my sister got married there so it was got on the running...

Atlantica is beautiful too.. but my only problem with that place was the room was tiny and would not be able to hold guest over 170.. sooo sad.. :cries
