Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross is expecting her first child with husband Tom Mahoney, PEOPLE has learned exclusively and the actress's rep confirms. The baby is due in April.

Cross, 44, and Mahoney, 48, a stockbroker, got married in June after dating for more than a year.

They became engaged in August 2005. 'She's over the moon,' Cross's Housewives costar Eva Longoria told PEOPLE at the time. 'I'm so excited for her. It's so beautiful to see her this happy and so in love.'

Cross, recently nominated for a best actress in a comedy Emmy, plays uptight Bree Van de Kamp on the ABC series, which begins its third season on Sept. 24.

BEERWAH, Australia (AP) — The family of 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin has decided on a private funeral to be held within a week, and a public memorial service will be held within two weeks, with thousands expected.

The 44-year-old Irwin was killed Monday by a stingray while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

In a short statement Thursday, Irwin's father, Bob, said the family and 'closest friends' would attend the private service, confirming that the 'generous government offer' of a state funeral had been turned down.

No details were given on the possible location for a public memorial to the boisterous TV star, although the Irwin family's 60-acre Australia Zoo and a 52,000-seat sports stadium in the nearby state capital of Brisbane have been mentioned.

The elder Irwin said his son would not have wanted a formal state funeral because 'he's an ordinary guy, and he wants to be remembered as an ordinary bloke.'

Prime Minister John Howard had said a state funeral would be appropriate for Irwin because he was so well-loved and because of his services to Australia as an unofficial tourism ambassador.

Since his death, several hundred thousand dollars in online donations from the United States alone have poured in to one of Irwin's wildlife charities. But the head of one of Irwin's conservation groups, Wildlife Warriors, said he is worried what will happen to the charitable organization after the interest surrounding Irwin's death recedes.

'But it's not just about the dollars,' Wildlife Warriors head Michael Hornby told The Associated Press. 'They represent the number of people who are now getting involved. That was a big thing for Steve. He wanted to get the ordinary person, everyday people, involved ... it is coming to fruition.'

Even with the donations pouring in, Hornby admitted he wasn't sure how the group would cope following Irwin's death.

'I have to say Wildlife Warriors has never had this much exposure (as) ... through this incident. I think it probably is a groundswell now. The challenge for us is to keep the momentum going,' he said.

Mourners have left flowers, flags, candles, cartoons drawn by children at Australia Zoo, the reptile theme park that Bob Irwin started in 1970 and his son built into an international tourist attraction. In lieu of a condolence book, many well-wishers have signed their names on dozens of khaki shirts, one of Steve Irwin's trademarks.

Terri Irwin, Steve Irwin's American-born wife, and two children, Bindi, 8, and Bob, 2, remained secluded at their home near the zoo.

After security officials roped off the area, Bob Irwin and other members of his family took a brief, private tour of the makeshift memorial on Thursday, reading notes from well-wishers, who continued to come to the site.

Terri Irwin has not commented since her husband's death. Her mother, Julia Raines of Eugene, Ore., told the television newsmagazine show 'Inside Edition' that Terri said she might have trouble coming to grips with being a single parent.

'Terri says it's going to be hard being the only parent because you depend on the other person more than you realize, and she's having a hard time with that,' said Raines. 'She told me, 'I'm very concerned about raising the children by myself,' but I know she'll do well.'

Paris Hilton arrested for drunk driving 1 hour, 20 minutes ago



Celebrity Paris Hilton was arrested in Hollywood early on Thursday on suspicion of drunk driving, Los Angeles police said.

Police pulled the hotel heiress over and tested her for intoxication after seeing her drive erratically, Los Angeles police officer Robert Andreno told Reuters.

'She was arrested so, yes, she failed the sobriety test,' Andreno said.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Marjan Mobasser said Hilton was stopped by traffic officers in the Hollywood area at about 1:20 a.m.

The 25-year-old heiress to the Hilton hotel and real estate dynasty has achieved celebrity through saturation media coverage of her hard-partying lifestyle and a growing number of television appearances.

She is best known for her hit reality show 'The Simple Life' and for a sex video that showed up on the Internet.

Earlier this year a judge ordered Hilton to stay away from a Los Angeles party planner who accused her of bombarding him with angry phone calls, shoving him and threatening his life.

I try to be the kind of person that doesn't constantly criticize other people's looks, but I just want to know what in the world is going on with Pacino and why are his bangs curled? LOS ANGELES (AFP) - US pop princess Britney Spears gave birth to a second baby boy, US news media reported, just two days before her first child is to turn a year old.

Spears, 24, and her husband Kevin Federline, 28, together welcomed their new son into the world in Los Angeles in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, People magazine reported.

The child was delivered via a scheduled C-section, the magazine reported.

The couple already have a son, Sean Preston, who will turn one year old on Thursday.

The baby is Federline's fourth child, as he has two small children by his ex-girlfriend, actress Shar Jackson -- Kori, 4, and Kaleb, 2.

Spears spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnik declined to comment on the report to AFP.

Spears first sprang to fame as a teen star and went on to become one of the biggest forces in pop music.

Her 1999 album 'Baby One More Time' put her on the global music map, selling a whopping 60 million copies.

The chief inspector of the Bahamas coroner's office on Wednesday called the death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, 'suspicious,' and scheduled a formal inquiry that could lead to criminal charges.

'Whenever there is a suspicious death we would have an inquest to determine how the person died,' Bradley Neely, chief inspector of the coroner's office, told AP Television News.

Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill scheduled the inquest for the week of Oct. 23, saying it 'is the right course of action.' If jurors at the inquest decide a crime took place, the case would be sent to the attorney general's office, authorities said.
