he's sporty spice he loves to be active- softball basketball etc for my bday we went bowling and he said he loved it. i was thinking of doing that again but its friggin expensive to pay for everyone. what if i organize a birthday picnic/softball or volleyball game at flushing meadow?

I think that's an AWESOME idea!!!! When is his birthday? Is it during a warm month?
Also, why do you have to pay for everyone??? I've never gone out to a birthday where the birthday person had to pay for people..if anything, they're coming to YOUR birthday, so they pay for you!!!

if you wanna do a party at a bar in the city but dont have a lot of $$$....most bars will let you set up deals where you just guarantee a certain amount of ppl and they will set up an open bar for a few hours. The people pay maybe like 30 bucks cover when they get there but then drinks are free.

haha im going thru the same thing!!!
i actually asked some friends if they would be around on the 24th and got a good response back, talked to his mother and now i am planning a surprise bbq at my house.
what makes it cheap is that everyone is bringing a couple of dishes (mainly my girls are his best friends too) so they are bringing lots of apps, desserts, and sodas, and decorating while im out with him...
and to all the other guests, just bring what your drinking!
