I'm bummin

I'm bummin

Ok so I had many a difficult conversation with mom to persuade her not to wear a navy blue dress (that she had made and wore to my brothers wedding 5 years ago) because a) my bridesmaids are wearing navy and I prefer that she NOT match them. and b) I think it would be nice for her to wear something new so she doesn't look exactly the same as she did before.

So I convince her of this and while I was in Mexico, my awesome sisters took mom, who isn't terribly healthy or mobile to a very expensive plus sized dress shop in Cedarhurst. She picked a beautiful chocolate brown dress with Austrian crystals and was prepared to pay through the nose to have it made to fit her properly. Well when she called the shop to approve the fabric swatch she got in the mail, she was told that the company who makes the dress is no longer cutting it and she will have to get something else.

I am so upset for her because she had been so excited and it was a lot of work for my sisters to help her (and me out). I know she will find something else but she is dealing with so much right now, she didn't need this on top of that.

Aww, Leslie I am sure she will find something else, I'm sorry it didn't work out the first time.

The sample size was in black and not in her size. She wanted brown.

THat's terrible! My mom actually had gotten her dress first and it was navy...my sis wanted light blue for the bm's but we all fell for a dress that only came in navy blue...in the end my sisters fmil..thought it would be cute to get navy too..so we all had navy on and it actually looked nice...

regarding the brown dress..is there any way to get someone to make it for her..a lot of the dressmakers will come with you to a store to look at a dress and they can copy it for you...

I hope this helps..i know you are going through a bad time..but i am sure she will wear something that she will be happy with...it willl all work out in the end...
good luck..

The 'blue issue' was more about not wearing the same dress she wore before.

As for copying the dress, the shop is very smal and I dont think she could get away with bringing someone in there.
