im clueless about garters

so i know nothing. i guess the most important thing is, is their certain ones/materials that are known to be really comfortable for garters...they look like they would hurt and rub and be a real pain in the as$, lol

do they come in different sizes or is it one size fits all (yeah hopefully it fits my huge thigh, O God!)

second, what is the average price of a regular one and what have you seen as the going price for sports ones?

where'd you get yours?

and which leg am i supposed to wear it on?

I am pretty sure they OS...but if you are getting it made from like Etsy, you might be able to get a specific measurement.

I have seen regular ones as low as $10 and up, and the sports ones I see generally from $20-30.

I bought mine from Garters by Kristi on eBay.

I think you weare it on the left leg.

are you supposed to wear one on both legs or just one? (sorry if that's a really dumb question)

If you wear two, it's because you want to have one for your garter toss and another to keep. They are both worn on the same leg.

There was a thread a while back about which leg to wear them on. I think it was the left, but I remember thinking I had thought wrong, so I'm not sure lol. I'm almost positive it doesn't really matter, though.

I got my garter through http://www.sewuniquegarters.com/ and they let me mix and match -- I got a mets toss garter:

And a pretty lacy blue garter for my keepsake one (it was also my something blue):

They're $17 for a single garter and $29 for the set of bridal and toss garter on that site, and I thought those prices were very competitive. It's $1 extra if you want 'plus size' garters, and they have a sizing chart on the site. I think they'll add a few inches or make it customized.

I didn't find it uncomfortable to wear at all that day. I was surprised because it did leave a mark by the end of the day, but it was fine. Maybe it was all the adrenaline.

HTH!

Re: im clueless about garters

I wore two, one was my something borrowed (from my parents wedding) and the other my grandmother had bought for me before she passed away. I didn't throw either obviously but typically if you're going to throw one you wear an extra. I wore them on my left leg.

EDA: I have a brand new garter still in the package on my for sale album for $5 if you want one! It would have been my something blue had I not gotten an awesome gift from Sandra (see above) right before the wedding!

They're one size fits all...they should one size fits people with stick legs. The one size fits all is soo tight. I tried on Jackie's (CloudNine) and her's was tight..but I guess thats how they are made.

The sports ones are generally $25-30ish.
