Im confused need to clarify about First song dance

on the other post it was asked if your having BP join in first dance but many are having them join in the second song. I didnt know you have to pick 2 songs. ugh can you give me suggestions? thanks.

Well, that was news to me too when I was first on here. One song you use as your 'first dance', which is just you and your new hubby and the other song is the 'spotlight dance' which starts off with you and your hubby and then other couples join in.

Yeah, well it's not a neccessity to do it, but a lot of people seem to. It was definately news to me....

You can do whatever you want -- have BP join you during first dance if you aren't comfortable doing a whooooole dance by yourselves (yes, all of a sudden that song gets very long).

now im even more confused so is your first dance and spotlight dance different? oh im stressed. so if our song is a moment like this is that our first dance or spotlight dance? Help

The spotlight song is optional. We are having one and doing it right after the cake cutting. A little into the song the DJ will invite everyone to join in.

The first dance, which happens right after the couple is announced and enters the room is where your wedding song is played. Couples can opt to dance on the own or have the bridal party join in at some point. I think most couples dance on their own for the entire song.

You can do whatever you want..some people do the entire dance by themselve (which we are) or you can invite the BP out..DO what you want to do..Another slow dance after the wedding song..eh i am not going to do that..

Whatever you want, it's your wedding. You don't even have to have a dance. I am just saying you can start off the 'first dance' youselves and have the DJ invite the BP to join you on the second verse...or not. Whatever makes you comfortable. And it doesn't have to have a name 'fist' 'spotlight' or whatever. Just tell the DJ what you want.
My first wedding the screwed up and had the BP join us for our second dance, which was a traditional spanish folk dance. They were supposed to call the grooms family instead. Oh my BMs wanted to kill me for that one! But it was hysterical!

Oh ok now its making sense. I have been to so many weddings and Im drawing blanks on how things were done. I think too many cosmo's at CH did me in
