You can do it! Just take one vendor at a time. If you schedule ONE appointment each weekend or day off, you'll be good to go!

You can definitely pull it all together. Start by making a list of the vendors you still need (ex. music, photo/video, flowers, officiant, etc.) and write down a few that you want to contact. Call and find out who is available, meet with them and book. Try to prioritize your list and cross one off at least each week!

First--breathe!

Then get off of this site and make a list of things that you have to do. Then set timelines for each and stick to them! For example--book photographer by June 30th etc etc..

If you have no idea what vendors you want to use I suggest you start at the top of your list for example photography and start researching the ones you like.. once you find a few I would start calling and seeing if they have your date available..if they do make an appointment ASAP.

Focus on only one thing at a time and go in order of your list following deadlines as much as you can. Space it into chunks that you can handle with the other priorities you have in your life.

Remember that you CAN and you WILL do this even if it seems impossible right now.. get busy on that list!

We're here if you need us! Good luck!

Wow-
Thanks girls!
We only booked the hall two weeks ago. I don't have anything else booked.
Russo's has a concierge meeting which we have on July 11th where they steer you towards vendors- but I really feel I need to start NOW.

I'm watching everyone's 'checks' happen on here and they are happening with 6 or 8 months to go!!

Eeeeee!

I'm breathing-
Someone hand me a paper bag!!???

Ok. The RH has recommended vendors, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get a great price or that they will be a style match for you. They will probably have a discounted vendor meal, and that's about it. So let's see what you need...

-Photographer/videographer (if you're having one)
-Florist/lighting (if you want it)
-music (ceremony and reception)

-transportation
-hair/makeup
-Do you have your dress/accessories?
-Officiant
-Invitations/paper goods

I just went to Russo's on the Bay's home page and found the link to their vendor recommendations page. Here is the link.

Why don't you start with these? You won't have to wait until July to find out what is already posted on their site...

Re: I'm feeling very overwhelmed

Thank you so much.
I do have my dress and my girls all have theirs.

The hall does the uplighting..

My FH is taking care of the entire honeymoon- I don't even want to pack or talk about where to go- I just want to get on the plane-

So that leave limo, photo, dj, ceremony music flowers, hotel to stay at, officiant----- am I missing anything?

Re: I'm feeling very overwhelmed

Also, depending on your budget, you may want to enlist the help of a planner to help ease your stress. I love mine, Meaghan Sinisi of Fruition Events. www.fruition-events.com Her prices are totally reasonable, and it's at least worth making a phone call to find out if it's something you can work out.

There are a few others that lots of girls have mentioned on this site as well, so maybe do a search for that.

When I started freaking out about how to pull all of this together, I started calling planners. It was the BEST decision I made. She helped me find vendors that were in my budget, negotiated better pricing for us, organized all of our meetings, dispensed advice, etc. She actually saved us more money than the cost of her package, so it was well worth it for us.

Just breathe, it will all be ok. :)

Re: I'm feeling very overwhelmed

Start with the big things, then work out the details. The gifts you can get later. You have to find the photographer, DJ, Florist, officiant and transportation first.

Do you know what the breakdown is for your budget? That way you can figure out what you can spend on each vendor based on what's most important for you.

Also, think about what kind of look/style you're going for. That's for pictures, flowers, the general feel of the wedding. This will help you decide who to meet with as well as make all of the meetings more productive when you're there.

We're planning our LI wedding from Los Angeles, and we basically did a lot of internet research and then picked 3 or 4 vendors to meet with in each category. Then we decided. That helped as well...
