We have our 'Prenuptual Investigation' tomorrow at the church here in CA to fill out paperwork to send to the church on LI to hold our date. I am so nervous! I'm not really too religious, but my FH doesn't even believe in the stuff! They're going to interview us seperately and I'm afraid that they're going to deny us or something. I don't know what FH is going to say for what religion he practices now. If anyone has any advise or had a similar situation, PLEASE let me know!!!! Thanks!

Don''t get yourself freaked out!! It really is nothing they ask you a few questions. They asked me: 1) If I was ever a nun? 2) Was I going into my marriage freely? 3) what religon I am?
those are the only ones I can remeber. don''t worry about it. I also was freaked!! But it was nothing don''t worry just answer the questions you will be fine. You can''t mess up. Let me know how it goes!!

Sounds like my FH when we went to meet with the priest for the first time. He is not religious at all and really has no beliefs. I am catholic . I was so worried he was going to say the wrong things and they wouldn''t let us get married at the church I wanted. Well, the first meeting was a little tense, and I have to say FH wasn''t that bad. He had his differences with the priest but the priest accepted his views and FH has been a bit more open. All I can say is have some faith in your FH. He knows how much this means to you and I am sure he will be respectful. I am sure it will all work out. Good Luck!!

Don''t worry! We had to go through the same thing. They just want to make sure that there is nothing standing in the way of the relationship working.

Thanks. We''re getting ready to go now and I feel better. Boop2704, you''re right. He knows how much this means to me and my family and he''s not going to do anything to mess it up or anything. I was afraid that if we didn''t say exactly what the priests wanted to hear they would say we can''t marry in the church. I''ll let you know how it goes!
