Let me start off by saying how crappy my day was. I had to go in the city to my office to do some work I usually work on the island in field but yesterday I had to go in. On the way home the LIRR gets stuck in Farmingdale everyone had to get off. Thank God my brother came and got me I had to go to Ronkonkoma for to get my car. I get to the lot and someone has me blocked in and I couldn't get out. The cops don't really maintain or care about that lot because it is abandoned so alot of people park there. I waited for 2 hours for some other cars around me to come so I could squeeze out. I was so mad. But this is why I am so mad today......
So now today I finally get in touch with church who never returns call to get a price of how much it will cost me to get married there. They tell me 1800 okay and a 300 refundable deposit if I am not late to the cermony. So that I will not hold up pastor, singer, piano person that comes with the 1800 price. Are you kidding me??? 1800 dollars, is this the going price??? I am non demonination but this is crazy. I cannot afford this. What am I going to do??? I had my mind set on having my wedding here but not anymore. ;
Sorry so long, I was crying I am getting so discouraged with this wedding.

so sorry about all this. 1800 sounds like a lot, even if you aren't a parishoner. the 300 to avoid lateness sounds like extortion to me. i have NEVER been to a wedding that started on time - and i've been to a lot.
you mentioned that you really wanted this church (site), but maybe there is another one that you can try.
everything will work out. try not to stress out too much. maybe you can just take one day to relax for yourself and not think/plan any wedding stuff.

First I am so sorry to hear about your horrible day..second that is A LOT of money for the church. I HOPE!! Usually the prices are around $500 I think...

there is a non den church in patchogue...on main street. Its actually very pretty inside...you should try there

That is RIDICULOUS! My church was $600 + $200 for the organist - and I'm not a parishoner there. See if you can find out what other girls were quoted for the church. I'm not sure I'd get married at a church that charged that unless I had some SERIOUS attachment to it.

My church is $500 + $180 for musicians, and I am a parishioner who goes every week. My mom is royally pissed off about that, we'll see what happens...

That is ALOT! I would def check out other chuches. I am paying $500 for my church (that includes the organist) and I belong to a different church.

That does sound a little high. You might want to try another church close to your house. I changed churches for a similar reason, they would never return my calls, they wanted alot of money also and they couldn't guarntee I would start on time because there was a christing ahead of me and I basically had to wait until they were done with there pics etc. It's craziness. . .
