FI and I are scheduled for city hall on Thursday!! (green card issues)... It feels WEIRD, especially considering we only just got engaged 12/27/03!!! Shortest engagement on the planet, huh?

It's kind of complicated... his father died when he was young, but his mother and brother still live in Israel. But, his mother is a holocaust survivor, so she's the only survivor from her family, so his only family is his mom, his brother, and some family from his father's side that lives in Toronto... Mom, brother and family from Toronto are flying in for the halloween wedding, which is really sweet...

Don't worry- We have our big church wedding & reception for Nov. but we had to have a civil ceremony @ the end of this Feb.
We are paying for our own wedding and husband payed 400. month for insurance- now on my plan- savings of almost 4000.
We have been together for 8 years.
THe thing that I liked about it was that we did it for ourselves-
We said our vows ( in the Greek Orthodox church its done a bit different) and it was totally low key-
allmost as if we eloped.
I have my plain wedding band which I used for this wedding and will have my diamond band for the chuch wedding.
All friends and family very supportive of this decision.
Congrats!!!!! Enjoy it-
It is a special day and you will definetly feel great!!! It will not take away from your big wedding- it's something for the 2 of you!!!!!!!
