I'm so excited! My son and daughter-in-law made their announcement to me yesterday.
This is how my son told me.. We were talking on the phone while I was driving. He asked 'where are you?' 'I'm on 88'. He said, 'is there a lot of traffic?' (we live upstate NY, there's never traffics). So I told him not a soul was out, its -19, no person in their right mind would be out. The he asked 'so theres no cars around you?'. No I said. Then he says 'you what? YOUR GOING TO BE A GRANDMA'. I honestly was soooo lost for words, I burst out into tears. I'm a person that never ever really lost for words but he sure knew how to get me on this. So while I was crying he was laughing at me. That's nothing new!
I wanted to call my daughter so bad and tell her, but I have to realize and take a step back, this is their news and it's not up to me to pass the word onto family members.
She is going to the doctor on Tuesday so we should know more then.
My daughter and I figure sometime in September. I can't believe it. Now I have to get busy staring to prepare my quilting projects.

Thank you again everyone. Yes, it is very exciting.
They went of a 2nd sonogram this past weekend and they seen the babys' heart beating. she is 7 weeks and the nurse shut down the machine before giving them a due date. Ofcourse, they brought me a copy of the sonogram and they said that right now you an see a head and a tail...LOL....My son was so funny, he said that my grandbaby looks like a toad.
I've already crocheted a baby sweater and my mom, (great-grandma) is crocheting a blanket. This will be one spoiled grandbaby. I can't wait for my daughter and then I'll have 2 very spoiled grandbabies. .

I have a 5 yr. old grandson and a 3 yr. old granddaughter. We took them to lunch, the movies, and then brought them over to play with Scooby. My husband has them downstairs now - I am beat! Just wait....

That is so awesome....it sounds like you are very excited & ready to spoil that baby!!!

Thank you everyone! My son and DIL were over this weekend and everything is going very well. Shes on the heavy side so we can't see any sign of showing yet, at least I can't.
My son kept telling me 'mom I'm scared'. I tried to assure him that parenting will come natural but he said its not the parenting that concerns him, he's scared that this child will be like him.... I used to always tell him that I hope he has a child just like himself. My son was never a bad boy at any time growing up, he was just a WILD CHILD. I told him 'pay backs'..

Thank you for all your thoughts. So far, thank God, things are going well. DIL's constant vomiting is finally just about gone. She really has been having a rough time of it.
They have asked me to go with them the end of May for a sonogram and this will determine the sex.
Since the day they told me, I had these visions of being at the hospital and my son coming out to me and saying 'mom you have a granddaughter/son', and me, him and my daughter would hug and cry. OK so I'm a dreamer..lol... So, with kicking it around, I said that I would love to go. If I'll be finding out somewhere else the sex of my first grandbaby, I would want to hear it first hand.
DIL can be cute (at times) and she told me we can still do that. When they are about to say what the sex is, I'll go out in the hall and my son can come out and tell me. Thats our plan. At least I'll be the first to know.
BTW: If some of you remember ALL the drama and heartache she caused from the wedding, she has made a turn around. We get along so much better, we talk more and do A LOT of planning. Its wonderful and something that should of happened a long time ago.
I'll update more when I have more. Hope everyone is doing well and with the nice weather here, I know that I haven't been inside much other than work. YUCK!
