Congrats!!!
THe name change is going to be very hard for me because I have a very latin last name and his is very 'american' sounding, so part of me feels like I will be losing part of my identity. I know I have to do it but I get sad at the thought. I've had my last name for 26 years.

Cindy - if you can get to the one in Huntington when they open you will be in and out in 15 minutes. I have registered my car several times and renewed my license there and the longest it ever took was 1/2 hour and that time I showed up at 10 AM.

Cool , I am totally going to that one. I always go to Hauppauge and its the biggest pain in the A$$ - its at least an hour there!!
Are there any other SS offices in that area besides the one in Melville?

Well this is South Shore, but there is one right off the Southern State 110 South, immediately off the S.S.--its hidden.
