I'm sorry that lawyer is being an a$$. Maybe he's stalling because his clients haven't found a place yet? Is there any way that your lawyer can pressure him?

Thats insane- maybe you should consider contacting the bar association after you closing- if he's playing games, they should know what antics he is up to.
sorry that he is putting you guys through this!
for diarrhea for him!

Wow you havent closed on the house yet?? I remember because we bought ours around the same time, March. I closed in 3 weeeks but I guess that was becauase I had a short sale.
It will work out - just take it one day at a time.
Well I guess the banks wanted everything under the sun from us, then the seller had some open permits she had to take care of but that's all fixed. Now we're waiting on her dumba$$ lawyer!
It's better to have the previous owner take care of all her unresolved permits than for you to go into the house and have to deal with it.
So it's better worth the wait.

i was just going to say that - maybe the sellers are not in a rush to get out? i know as a buyer we are going to try to pro-long closing as long as possible so we can try saving up as much money as possible.....maybe sellers dont have a place to live yet? and are pro-longing? this is what scares me! you can close in 3 weeks or it can take months

Nope, she has a place already so she wants out NOW. Granted she's not paying a mortgage, but still she doesn't want both homes.

Believe me, I was fine with the extra month because it's one less month we would have to pay for the mortgage and more time to save. So to me, they are just blessings in disguise. But we lose our commitment if we don't close like now and the interest rate goes up and we pay a point and a half extra. I'm not having any of that!

So sorry you are going through this! We too had to wait 2 months before we got a meeting with the board! Our mortage rate expired yesterday and got an extention for another 2 weeks which means these mofos better work everything out and allow us to close before the 24th!
Ps...our wedding is 32 days away...our furniture is scheduled to be delivered on the 24th and 25th! When are we going to paint?!?!?
good luck and hopefully this stress will soon be over!

My real estate agent and my attorney said they never had so many problems for one closing ever! LOL! At closing i didnt say one word to the seller's or the seller's attorney. We just signed our papers and left haha! Its all worth it in the end though. You will get there, dont worry!

I hope it all works out for you .... Just hope you do not get to the day of the signing and the owner refuses to sign.... It happened to us because hedecided he did not like the deal he agreed to (he screwed himself out of major money and realized it to late). We actually had to tell him either sign or we will hold this up for years in court, you won't be able to sell it or live in it. 2 weeks later he signed because we seriously filed against him and he found out he would be paying for a house no one could live in or sell.

Thankfully this isn't the case with us. It's just a rotten lawyer!
