I'm going to sound like the biggest loser here but....
Original post by starhead
I feel like a lot of my friends don't have time for me anymore (and I guess vice versa sometimes, too). Like my friendships with my girlfriends have changed as we've all gotten married or involved in serious relationships, there's not much time for each other and when we do see each other, there's a lot of planning ahead of time involved. A lot of my friends have moved and I moved which also makes it difficult to see each other. I miss having girlfriends that I could call and just hang out with and chat, see a movie, etc. Does anyone else feel like this? Or is it just me that feels like a lonely loser?

You arent a loser at all. There are many of my friends that I haven''t seen in awhile. It''s so hard to maintain friendships nowadays. Peoples lives change constantly and a lot of other folks are in school, married, married with kids, ETC. So don''t worry about a thing.

WOW! I was just thinking about this today!! I moved out east from where I went to H.S. in Nassau and my 3 closest girlfriends still live in the same town. So far, only 1 of them has come to visit me, ONE time in the 4 yrs I have been living in Suffolk County...I ALWAYS have to drive out to them, and when I invite them to come hang out by me, they make up excuses about not wanting to drive,or they''re too tired! I mean, it definitely bothers me that I seem to be the one who puts in the most effort, and if I don''t call them, I probably would never hear from them...and I was in 2 of the 3 of these girls'' weddings! I am ready to give up and I dont even know if I want them in my wedding anymore (i havent asked them yet, but i know they assume i will) so don''t feel bad.....I know what you are feeling, cause I feel the same way,too.....

I have done some major house cleaning lately of some people I decided were no longer my friends although I was very much theirs, and it felt really good. But I have to say there are no warm bodies filling up the friend space now either. So sometimes I question it, was it worth being alone sometimes?
My answer is usually a yes, but decide how how you feel before you decide to cut any ties. Just my 'been there' opinion.

I feel like I am there too....... a lot of my friends are still single, not in relationships even, and I think it makes it harder to hang out when you have a husband. Plus, many of them are in the city, and getting them to come to me is always a big issue, and I''m always schlepping there if I want to see them.
I''ve noticed that my friendships with married friends are getting stronger while my friendships with my single friends are becoming more strained.
Do you guys have a hard time when it comes to getting together with your husband and friends? Just curious
