I'm hating wedding planning right now!

UGH! So I tried to get FH to help me with our song list last night. It didn't go well. Everytime I read him the name of a song he said 'I don't know' and shrugged. I got so upset finally I circled all of the songs I liked and put it away. Eventually after nagging him a little more I ended up in tears. He doesn't understand why I'm upset. He says 'it will all get done' the problem I have is that I feel like that means I will end up doing it all. To his credit he is typically so supportive and helpful when I need it but with this one he doesn't see why I care so much.
PS - He hates this type of 'wedding music' He wishes we could have Blink 182 play at our wedding

Awwww I'm sorry you are feeling this way! Perhaps if you have speakers on your computer you can listen to the songs together? I know for our e-party FH felt the hired DJ would handle it all. So once I complied the list of songs the DJ let him preview and then FH got into it. Perhaps suggest he make a list of songs he would like to hear at the wedding. Then you both can share songs. Please know you are not alone in this 'battle.' If my FH had his way we would soly be listening to Metallica and AC/CD. LOL

FH is the same way when it comes to the music. I would just pick it and let him know what you picked. Then if he has any major problems with them, address his concerns. FH was this way with invites, one day he grabbed my shoulders looked me in the eye and said 'I don't care, really, truly don't care about the invites, you pick whatever makes you happy!' Finally I thought :he doesn't care, I can pick whatever I want!' Sometimes we have to have it spelled out for us too, don't get upset, just try to be understanding of his feelings, and right now it seems his feeling is he doesn't care. Pick the music you like, ask your sister/GF/Mom/FMIL, someone who will give you an opinion. GL

awww Kristin, I'm sorry you feel so frustrated! Sometimes you feel like you're doing it all by yourself - and lots of us know what that's like! Your FH will come around!

ETA I totally understand when it comes to music choices- FH totally comes up with inappropriate songs too- um, NO ONE is gonna wanna dance to 'Girls Girls Girls' by Motley Crue!

My FH is the same way-he offers no suggestions but doesn't hold back his protests to all of the songs I choose. At this point its whatever-I will put down what I want and leave the rest up to the DJ.

Thanks for that!!! It's nice to know my FH isn't the only guy who thinks that music I like is dumb and that Blink 182 was the best band ever! hahaha

Thanks for your support girls! Every once in a while you have to step back and realize the important thing is the actual marriage. I get so wrapped up in the details of the day, that when FH isn't 100% enthusiastic about discussing what order the bridal party should enter the reception I have a breakdown! I feel better today!

We've been fighting a lot lately too. I've decided that since he's been more helpful in this process than a lot of other guys, I'm going to have to suck it up at this point and leave him to watch his Mets game while I take care of the last minute details. It doesn't mean I'm going to be happy about it, but it's not worth all the fighting to me.
