I'm Hopeless....

I'm Hopeless....

Since I couldn't find a Reception hall that charge $50 pp, I have another plan. I'm going to rent a nice hall in LI, Queens, or BK and have the food catered. One that would allow me to bring in my own alcohol. Hopefully I can make it work and it would turn out to be about $50 pp. I figure I can always go to a nice park and take pictures.

With that said, do any of you know of a nice rental hall that I can rent to have my reception (one that can hold up to 150 people)

Thanks in advance ladies!

How much are you looking to spend on vendors? Marconi manor includes all vendors for $46-$51 a head for a Saturday night. I know this because I am using them. I am almost certain they work with halls in nassau too.

i know its very difficult to make these decisions but just as a bit of advice, take it however you want it, but we rented an american legion hall and had my engagement party catered and did everything ourselves, favors, centerpieces, etc, they did have a bar, but overall, my mom spent so much more than she thought she would because doing all the details yourself really adds up!

Maybe inviting a few less people and going for a slightly higher price point at a place that takes care of a lot of details would have some advantages?? Also, check the LIW reception catering hall guide... there are a few on there for $50ish (Coral House, Hamlet Willow Creek, and Meditteranean Manor I know is reasonable and do great packages)

HTH! Good Luck!

my FH's cousin rent out a hall and she ended up spending more on food, Grief and Aggravation because she is the stress type like me...

i have ideas of places that i bump into that will mean your needs :) check your inbox.

you will find something, maybe not right away but be patient.. otherwise you will book a hall and regret it !

I thought about all the decorations that I would have to do to make the hall look good...You're right though I might be biting more than I can chew. It might end up being more than I thought. The stress is definitely not worth it, that the last thing I need on my wedding day. Thanks for the advice.

nope, jmt1108 i agree with you.
my mom planned big parties for us all the time in H.S. and college.. and now i think she would of been better off at a reception catering hall

when my FH's cousin told us how much she spent on her wedding renting out a place a month ago with doing all the food, decorations etc etc... I SCREAMED!! $$$$$$$$ she def should log on LIWEDDINGS

I always hear commercials about the Brentwood Country Club and it's wedding packages. I think they do a wedding special for under $10,000 for 100 people, video, limo, flowers and DJ included.

You could always try Marconi Manor (I know another bride already posted this, but I want to say that I had my sweet 16 there and my sister had her engagement party there. They really do a good job!)

Did you look into Mediterranean Manor? I know they have inexpensive packages as well.

HTH!

You are not hopeless! There is always hope... Im not sure what type of location you are looking for, but I when I was looking at halls I went to visit Verdis in Whitestone and their price for a saturday night was I believe $60, which was great, you can always negotiate or do it on a Friday or Sunday. I liked the place, but FH did not because it did not have all the nice amenities, like a garden.

Also, I agree that you should def. check out coral house, again for a Friday or a Sunday. Good luck!

Re: I'm Hopeless....

Gennero's in Brooklyn had packages that begin at I think 9000 which includes everything, limos, dj, pictures, etc. I also think finding a nice place that charges 60-90 per person but cutting down your guest list to say 100 is another good option.
