I'm in a 'mood' tonight.

I'm in a feel sorry for myself mood tonight. I just found out that JT is working THanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and overnight on New Year's Eve So our last holidays together before we're married will be non-existent And it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation because we need the money for the wedding and a house, but I'm going to miss him so much. I haven't spent ANY time with him in WEEKS because he is working all these crazy overnight and early morning shifts I miss him so much already, I don't know how I'm going to make it another 7 months of him working his arse off for this stupid wedding

He is a cameraman and master control operator for News 12. He took all the crappy holidays shifts to make extra money for the wedding.

I'm so sorry!! Your FH works in TV news right? I completely understand what you are going through beacuse my FH does too. He works on the holidays too and I hate it! I'm here for you if you need to vent.

look at it that way: you dont need holidays to have a special day, enjoy every day that you get to spend with him like it is a holiday... I think all of us should do that

You're right. It just sucks that he is working seven days a week now and I haven't actually seen him in weeks He's sleeping the whole time I am at work, then I see him for like an hour before he runs off to work overnight, then comes home to start the cycle again. Or he'll work from 4am-2pm, then come home and sleep until 8pm to go back to work overnight, etc.
Excuse me for having a pity party. I KNOW things could be so much worse. I'm just sad. Thanks girls

He is a technical director at MSNBC. He works whenever they want him too and because of the wedding he takes all the overtime he can get. He's actually home tonight because he has worked so much in the past few weeks (elections etc) that he requested a day off.

I am lonely myself, as soon as I turn on the TV Greg is out cold I guess I have to entertain myself the rest of the evening

Yeah, JT works whenever they want him to, also. He's one of the few people who can basically do it all at the station. He can sit in on any position, which is great for overtime, but terrible for our relationship! He suggested I spend New Year's Eve at the station with him since he is working the overnight shift with one of our groomsmen I think I might take him up on that. I freaking miss him!
And he's home now....but he's going to bed because he has to be at work at 4am again and he alread was up at 2am today
STUPID JOB!

Yuck! I'm in the same boat- FH owns restaurants so we won't be having happy cozy holidays either. Not to mention I see less and less of him with the new one just opening.- he gets home at 11:30-12am and we don't even live together yet! I get angry also, but I know he's doing this for us so we can have a better life. I know he'd rather be home with me! Just try and remember it will get better! That's what I keep telling myself. I know it's hard because I find myself being bitchy with him , but it's SOOO bad for the relationship.

That really stinks!! FH and I both work Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. But we work for the same company (different departments). I totally know what you mean about needing the money. It's sick at how much overtime we have been working just for the extra cash.

I will probably be spending most of my holidays right here, so if you need company, just let me know!

My FI is a resident, and last year, he worked all the holidays too! I was so lonely!

ok Hugs for everyone
the first yr that FH and I were dating he had plans for work on Christmas eve, I was miserable and to be honest he still feels guilty about it.

I totally understand the feeling. My FH works in a 24 hr deli on the overnight shift. They are also open 365 days so... working Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years again! It sucks.... So if anyone wants to talk I am here too!

Thanks so much ladies. I am sorry to hear I'm NOT the only one who has an FH that works too much But be assured that I will be seeking all of you out when it's Thanksgiving night and I'm lonely
